ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated Self Directed Learning Skills Lab (SDL) Intern to join our team and assist in providing personalized learning support to our students. The SDL Intern will
work closely with the Self Directed Learning Skills Lab facilitators and learners to help them overcome academic challenges, develop effective study skills, and achieve their learning
goals. This role involves providing guidance, and encouragement, facilitating group discussions in class, and assisting with troubleshooting canvas issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure materials are duly published on Canvas before.
  • Review and grade complete-incomplete all pre-class assignments
  • Monitor class attendance and record tardiness
  • Facilitate in-class group discussions for students in trimester one
  • Provide feedback and guidance on assignments, projects, and assessments to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Support in coordinating events: create event collateral
  • Any other duties as required by the supervisor

Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal,  by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards. 

Qualification

  • Currently enrolled at ALU
  • Preferably doing Skills Immersion
  • Being in good academic standing and having a strong passion for education or
    having an education-related mission
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build relationships with students
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt coaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Empathy, patience, and compassion towards students facing academic challenges
  • Knowledge & experience using graphic design software, Adobe Illustrator& Photoshop
