ABOUT AGENTS
Agent roles are entry-level positions designed for individuals with relevant experience who can contribute valuable expertise and complete specific, focused tasks. While not traditional internships, these roles provide an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a structured setting. They are best suited for individuals who are ready to take on responsibilities and deliver results.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking two Scholars Program Agents with relevant admin training and/or experience to join ALU’s Rwanda or Mauritius campus (full time). We are looking for individuals who will support the Senior Manager, Scholars’ Program to plan, implement and track different aspects of the Scholars Program in liaison with respective Campus Teams and for the core support of Scholars and Alumni Scholars. As part of a small team that is growing to match the Scholars Program scale-up, these persons must demonstrate a collaborative working style, great communication and self-directed learning skills.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Scholars Program sits with the Partnerships and Fundraising Team. We contribute to the ALU’s mission by primarily by seeking, nurturing and managing relations that contribute funding and support towards ALU’s core needs. Specifically, as part of the unit responsible for implementation of the Scholars’ Program, you will be expected to regularly interface with Scholarship Applicants, Scholars, Alumni Scholars’, Student Life, Financial Aid, Finance, Registrar, Operations, Suppliers, Vendors, among other internal and external collaborators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Scholars Program Manager to coordinate the implementation of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program with campus-teams.
The role will among other duties handle:
- Enquiries, References & Recommendations for Scholars & Alumni Scholars
- Scholars' Program Events’ Logistics
- Data & Records for Scholars' Program Partners’ Reports
- Mastercard Foundation Scholars' Program Purchases & Disbursements
- Scholars' Stories, Program Communication & Media
- Support other Scholars Programs e.g. Mandela Scholars & Mpesa Foundation Scholars, among others.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, ICT, Education, Development Studies or Social Sciences
- Fluency in English
