Fellowship Specialist

Casablanca

Are you passionate about empowering youth by connecting them to real-world opportunities and building thriving alumni networks? Do you thrive in creating ecosystems that link high-potential talent with meaningful career paths, and in building communities that last beyond graduation? We’re looking for a Fellowship Specialist with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in alumni engagement, talent placement, community building, or career services. The ideal candidate is both a strategic ecosystem builder and a hands-on doer who can craft systems that link ALX learners and alumni with job opportunities, perks, and real value.

In this role, you will be the architect of the ALX Morocco Fellowship experience, responsible for growing a powerful alumni community while forging strong partnerships with local and international companies. You’ll work at the intersection of community-building and career acceleration to ensure that every ALX graduate has a strong launchpad into the workforce.

If you believe that education doesn’t stop at graduation—and that access to networks, resources, and meaningful work is what completes the learning journey—this role is for you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fellowship Specialist will be responsible for building and sustaining the ALX Morocco alumni ecosystem, with a strong focus on creating career placement opportunities, professional development pathways, and strong alumni community engagement.

This role requires a unique combination of ecosystem design, stakeholder management, and community strategy. You will also be instrumental in ensuring corporate partners are successfully linked with top ALX talent, and that all job offers, tools, and perks are efficiently channelled toward ALX Morocco’s current learners and alumni.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Alumni Community Building & Engagement

  • Build a national alumni strategy to connect, engage, and empower ALX Morocco graduates.
  • Design and implement year-round engagement activities such as networking events, webinars, spotlights, and mentoring sessions.
  • Manage alumni communications (e.g., newsletters, LinkedIn groups, CRM) to share opportunities and updates.
  • Establish alumni leadership structures and ambassadors to drive local chapter growth and peer-to-peer support.

 Career Placement & Corporate Engagement

  • Design and maintain pipelines between ALX talent and corporate job offers.
  • Map Moroccan and international job markets to uncover emerging hiring trends and needs.
  • Build partnerships with companies across sectors to source opportunities for learners (jobs, freelance, internships).
  • Design employer engagement strategies (e.g., talent showcases, pitch decks, recruiter events).

Opportunity Management & Perks

  • Ensure all perks, tools, and resources targeting ALX learners and alumni are leveraged efficiently (e.g., CV tools, career platforms, freelance networks).
  • Work closely with internal teams to align learner journeys with access to career support and placement tracking.
  • Measure and report the impact of fellow-related initiatives (e.g., job offers made, hired learners, engaged companies).

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Align with LCE, Marketing, and Partnerships teams to ensure consistent learner-alumni-employer experience.
  • Participate in national and pan-African fellowship alignment calls to sync with other ALX markets.
  • Support internal reporting and storytelling efforts to highlight alumni impact.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in alumni relations, talent placement, partnerships, or ecosystem building.
  • Proven ability to manage professional networks and communities with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of Morocco’s job market, youth employment trends, and/or the edtech or HR tech space.
  • Strategic mindset with strong planning and operationalisation skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, able to represent ALX with senior executives, employers, and ecosystem actors.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (French & English).
  • Self-starter with project management skills and the ability to work independently across multiple workstreams.
  • Comfortable with digital tools like CRM platforms, dashboards, Notion, LinkedIn, Slack, Zoom, etc.

Person Attributes

We believe the right mindset is just as important as the right skills. We look for team members who embody our values:

  • Courage: Willing to challenge norms and drive bold ideas forward.
  • Humility: Open to feedback, always learning, and focused on serving others.
  • Adventure: Motivated by ambitious goals and inspired by the unknown.
  • Initiative: Takes ownership, moves fast, and finds solutions independently.
  • Resilience: Recovers from setbacks, adapts quickly, and never gives up.

Given the hybrid nature of the role, the selected candidate must demonstrate both autonomy and collaboration skills. They will be expected to operate independently within a distributed, virtual team while being physically present at our City Hubs (e.g., Casablanca, Rabat) and available for in-person meetings with partners or events whenever required.

Success in this role requires strong self-management, consistent communication using digital collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, etc.), and the ability to drive progress in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

At ALX, we also foster continuous learning, team members are encouraged to invest in their personal development and pursue certifications that align with their growth journey.
