HV Electrical Procurement Manager

ARCO/Murray is currently seeking a highly motivated Procurement Manager, HV Electrical Equipment to join our Energy & Infrastructure team in Chicago, Illinois. This role will lead category strategy and end-to-end procurement for critical high-voltage equipment supporting complex power, industrial, and data-center projects. The Procurement Manager will partner closely with engineering, project management, estimating, construction, clients, and suppliers to develop practical, availability-based solutions that meet technical, commercial, quality, and schedule requirements.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Lead category strategy and end-to-end procurement for HV electrical equipment, including breakers, transformers, switchgear, surge arresters, power resistors, e-houses, and related components.
- Partner with estimating, engineering, project management, construction, clients, and suppliers to define requirements and develop cost-effective, availability-based solutions.
- Manage RFQs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, negotiations, purchase orders, contracts, expediting, testing, and project-site delivery.
- Serve as the primary supplier escalation point, resolving issues involving pricing, scope, lead times, quality, technical requirements, and delivery.
- Build and maintain supplier forecasts, pricing data, qualified supplier networks, and alternate-sourcing strategies. Lead supplier qualification, audits, quality resolution, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and factory or final assembly testing.
- Support complex power infrastructure and data-center projects while monitoring cost, schedule, quality, and supplier performance.
- Improve procurement tools and processes, communicate risks and recommendations to leadership, and travel periodically for supplier and project meetings.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Five or more years of procurement, category management, or supplier-management experience, preferably with electrical equipment or power systems.
- Experience managing sourcing, negotiations, purchase orders, expediting, quality, and delivery.
- Working knowledge of HV electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, breakers, or power distribution systems. Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and project-management skills; proficiency with ERP and reporting tools is a plus.
- Periodic travel is required.

- Typical base compensation for the Project Manager role is between $84,000.00 and $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company performance.
