Anaplan is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Experience Engineering workstream. You will be a founding member of a new team dedicated to adapting our platform for a global audience. This is a unique opportunity to solve the complex challenges of internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) at scale for our award-winning planning technology. As Anaplan continues its strong growth in a competitive global market, delivering a world-class, localized experience is a key strategic priority for our next phase of expansion.
We are looking for an exceptional and passionate engineer who believes in simplicity, agility, and performance. In this role, you will architect the systems, build the tools, and establish the best practices that enable Anaplan to deliver a seamless, intuitive, and culturally relevant experience to customers in every market.
Your Impact
- Architect, build, and own the internationalization (i18n) platform and infrastructure required for high-quality, continuous localization.
- Directly enhance the experience for our global customers, making our platform more intuitive, accessible, and powerful for users in their native language.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure new features are designed and built with global readiness in mind from the start.
- Develop and maintain the pipeline for continuous localization, integrating with Translation Management Systems (TMS) and automating the flow of content.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to pluralization, date/number formatting, and creating flexible UIs that accommodate diverse languages.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on internationalization, providing guidance and setting standards for teams across the engineering organization.
- Write tests at every level of the testing pyramid to ensure the quality and accuracy of localized experiences.
Core Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to craft well-architected, scalable, and easy-to-maintain systems.
- Deep understanding of i18n libraries and frameworks (e.g., i18next, ICU, react-intl).
- Solid core understanding of JavaScript (ES2015+), HTML, and CSS, preferably with TypeScript and React.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build consensus and guide technical decisions with empathy and clarity.
Helpful Experience
- Expertise in software internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) for a large-scale enterprise SaaS application.
- Expertise with encoding standards like Unicode and best practices for handling global data.
- Familiarity with adapting front-end architecture to support multiple locales and the complexities of internationalized user interfaces.
- Expertise in writing scalable backend microservices; experience with the JVM (Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot) is a major plus.
- Experience with deployment tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

- Front-End: React, TypeScript, Redux, GraphQL, Playwright.
- Back-End: Java, Kotlin, Spring Framework.
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Helm.
