Your Impact
This role is crucial in bridging the gap between our core engineering teams, ongoing projects, and the internal consumers of our platform. You will act as a key enabler, ensuring that our engineering teams can build and deploy services consistently, securely, and at scale. At Anaplan we host our customer workspaces on Kubernetes clusters deployed in different regions around the world. From time to time we need to move our customers between these clusters, migrate workspaces from data centers to cloud environments, and perform re-pooling operations to optimize resource allocation.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developer experience, automation, and building robust, self-service platforms. You will be an advocate for best practices and a driving force for platform adoption and engagement across the organization.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:
- Executing migrations : DC to cloud migrations for chosen customers, and re-pooling operations for projects using our specialized tooling and CI/CD pipelines
- Act as a Bridge:Serve as a primary point of contact and facilitator between central platform teams and various engineering and project teams to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment.
- Promote Platform Usage:Champion the adoption and effective use of the platform's tools and services, providing guidance and support to development teams to maximize their productivity.
- Standardise Pattern Usage:Develop and enforce standardised patterns for infrastructure, deployment, and security to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance across all services.
- Drive Engagement:Actively engage with the developer community through workshops, documentation, and direct support to build a strong feedback loop and foster a culture of shared ownership.
- Facilitate Onboarding:Streamline the onboarding process for new teams and services, providing them with the necessary tools, documentation, and support to get up and running quickly.
- Gather and Action Feedback:Establish channels to continuously gather feedback from platform users and translate it into actionable improvements for the platform roadmap.
- Participating in on-call rotations to support critical migration activities
Your Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Computer Science, equivalent degree, or demonstrated experience working in a technology company
- Proven experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Proficiency with containerisation and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid experience with CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., ArgoCD, Jenkins, Git ).
- Excellent scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to empathize with customer concerns during critical migrations
Desired Experience:
- Quick learner with a genuine desire to understand sophisticated systems and software behavior
- Genuine passion for problem solving with the persistence needed to resolve complex technical issues
- Strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints within an exciting, fast-paced environment
