Join our revenue accounting team as Manager, Revenue Accounting. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert on ASC 606 technical accounting and manage the subscription revenue process, ensuring rigorous revenue recognition compliance, reviewing complex customer contracts, and supporting our month-end financial close.

You will partner directly with Deal Desk, Sales Operations, and Legal on non-standard enterprise deals, identifying technical accounting considerations and helping structure contract terms to protect revenue and billings.

This role focuses on technical accounting governance and subscription revenue process management. You will author audit-ready technical memos for new revenue streams and products, oversee complex revenue recognition and billing schedules, maintain and update standalone selling price (SSP) allocation models, and evaluate accounting treatment for contract modifications and emerging hybrid/usage pricing models. You will also serve as the primary technical liaison for our external audit team.

This position suits an experienced, detail-oriented technical accountant with strong Big 4 or public SaaS experience who enjoys in-depth contract analysis, rigorous accounting close, and cross-functional deal advisory.

Your Impact

  • Month-End Revenue Close Oversight: Oversee monthly revenue close deliverables, including complex revenue schedules, contract assets, deferred revenue rollforwards, customer contract liability reconciliations, bad debt reconciliation, and related journal entries.
  • Period-End Commercial Reporting & ASC 606 Disclosures: Lead the preparation, review, and reconciliation of period-end reporting packages for revenue metrics including billings, deferred revenue, and revenue backlog.
  • ASC 606 Technical Accounting Memos: Author formal technical accounting position papers documenting revenue recognition treatment for complex multi-element arrangements, non-standard terms, and emerging product offerings in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Cross-Functional Deal Advisory: Serve as a technical accounting partner to Deal Desk, Sales and Legal, collaborating regularly during active deal negotiations to provide clear accounting guidance on deal structuring and the implications of non-standard commercial terms such as custom SLAs, acceptance provisions, and termination rights.
  • Contract Processing: Process subscription contracts, including contract modifications, ensuring adherence to the revenue guidance and internal bookings policy.
  • Standalone Selling Price (SSP) Analysis: Perform annual Standalone Selling Price (SSP) analyses across software subscription tiers, professional services, and usage components, maintaining documented transaction price allocation methodologies.
  • External Audit Management: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors on all revenue accounting matters, manage technical PBC requests, lead audit walkthroughs, and defend accounting positions.
  • SOX Controls & Financial Governance: Design, maintain, and execute internal controls (SOX) over the OTC process, including contract review, multi-element revenue allocations, and close reconciliations.
  • Hybrid & Consumption Accounting Evaluation: Evaluate technical accounting treatment for evolving commercial models, such as minimum commitments, usage-based fees, and prepaid drawdowns, establishing appropriate recognition timing and variable consideration estimates.

Your Qualifications

  • Experience: 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years dedicated to technical revenue accounting under ASC 606 in SaaS or enterprise technology environments.
  • Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred; Big 4 experience and national public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical ASC 606 Mastery: Deep command of the ASC 606 5-step framework, distinct performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation (SSP), and contract modification accounting.
  • Close Accounting & Balance Sheet Rigor: Hands-on experience managing monthly revenue close, including deferred revenue rollforwards, contract asset/liability reconciliations, and review of complex revenue subledger schedules.
  • Complex Contract Analysis: Demonstrated ability to dissect multi-element enterprise contracts, identify non-standard clauses, assess revenue recognition impacts, and communicate those impacts to Commercial Operations.
  • Systems & Tooling: Working knowledge of enterprise ERP and revenue management systems (Workday), Salesforce CPQ, and financial modeling in Excel; Anaplan familiarity is a plus.
  • Professional Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical accounting standards and risks clearly to finance leadership, legal counsel, and commercial teams.
