About the team
UX Research at Angi is part of a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, researchers, and content creators. We help build innovative home services capabilities and experiences for both homeowners and service professionals that span the digital and physical worlds—from the details on a screen to in-person, human-to-human interactions, and everything in between. Our job is to redefine expectations around what’s possible in the home services industry by creating simple, seamless solutions to complex, previously unsolved problems.
We value exploration, rapid iteration, and attention to detail. Our teams are hands-on in every phase of a project lifecycle from discovery and definition through detail design, release, and ongoing optimization. We have deep knowledge across all aspects of Design and are comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team to produce solutions that work for both sides of our marketplace, our homeowners and service professional network.
About the role
As a Principal UX Researcher at Angi, you will be a driving force behind our mission to create exceptional user experiences for homeowners and pros. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping our product by identifying key observations, uncovering user insights, and championing user-centric decision-making across the organization. Your expertise will guide qualitative and quantitative research initiatives, mentor fellow researchers, and ensure that user needs are at the forefront of our innovation.
By leveraging your extensive research experience and strategic mindset, you'll tackle complex research challenges to move forward organizational level goals and identify opportunities where we can learn more about user behavior so that we can improve the Angi experience for both homeowners and pros. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, driving alignment through insights and defining out how to integrate research insights into the product development lifecycle.
What you’ll do
- Spearhead research initiatives across multiple product areas, defining research goals, methodologies, and success metrics - ranging from large, strategic work to detailed, tactical work
- Create compelling research narratives that stitch together qualitative and quantitative learnings
- Mentor and coach other UX Researchers, fostering a culture of research excellence, continuous learning while embracing and teaching a just-enough-research mentality
- Develop and implement long-term research strategies and roadmaps that align with company goals and vision
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across product, design, engineering, data, and business to define research, collect user observations and learnings and use user observations to influence strategic decisions
- Help identify and implement new research methods and tools to advance the company's research capabilities and stay ahead of industry trends
- Be a partner and leader in defining UX metrics, how we collect them, how they are paired with qualitative findings, and when they signal a need for deeper understanding and research
- Help define and support design operations including ways of working and tracking work, defining our research stack, tracking usage of tooling, and providing recommendations for streamlining our operations
- Represent Angi's UX Research team at industry events, publish research findings, and contribute to the broader UX Research community.
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in UX Research, with a proven track record of leading impactful research initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for all size research projects from rapid micro-scale usability optimization research to long term projects that help inform the strategic thinking
- Mastery of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to select and apply the most appropriate techniques for each research question - including using session replay, eye tracking, and emotional analysis tools
- Deep understanding of the home improvement industry, marketplace dynamics, and/or service industry operations is a strong plus.
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python), research platforms (e.g., Sprig, Maze, UserInterviews) to leverage data effectively, and UX Metrics (eg. NPS, CSAT, SuprQ, UXLite)
- Ability to align research with business goals and strategy, demonstrating a clear understanding of the commercial impact of UX research.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organizational change through research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex research findings clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences.
- Ability to identify emerging trends in UX Research and drive innovation within the research practice at Angi.

Compensation & Benefits
- The salary band for this position ranges from $145,000 - $185,000,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
- This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
