Position Overview

Apex Skin is a rapidly growing skincare facility that empowers employees to deliver exceptional patient experiences. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager who brings strategic clarity, independent execution, and meaningful team leadership. This person will help set the direction for general dermatology growth and be accountable for results across every channel and touchpoint. 

This role spans brand, digital, public relations, print, media, internal communications, and regional office support. It requires someone who can move fluidly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, mentor a small team toward measurable outcomes, and represent the marketing function with credibility across the organization. 

 

Schedule:

  • Full time | Exempt
  • Monday through Friday (occasionally some weekends)
  • Hybrid schedule, must reside within a commutable distance to Beachwood, OH.

 

Essential Functions: 

Strategic Leadership & Independent Execution

  • Develop and own the marketing strategy, aligned to revenue and growth goals across all 15 general dermatology locations
  • Translate business objectives into prioritized marketing initiatives with clear timelines, owners, and KPIs
  • Make independent decisions on channel mix, vendor selection, budget allocation, and campaign approach
  • Identify gaps in brand presence, patient acquisition, or community visibility and build solutions proactively
  • Serve as the senior marketing voice in cross-functional conversations with operations, clinical, and executive teams
  • Manage key vendor relationships including negotiations, accountability, ongoing relationships
  • Manage direct reports to execute key deliverables that align with overall business objectives and support cross functionally
  • Create annual budget, maintain and project ongoing with ability to adapt as needed to address business changes and goals 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide regular coaching, feedback, and development support to grow each team member's capabilities and impact
  • Build workflows and accountability structures that enable the team to execute independently within defined lanes
  • Establish and model healthy cross functional relationships
  • Act as the connector between their work and core marketing strategy
  • Shield the team from scope creep while advocating for appropriate resourcing and recognition
  • Model the standards, communication style, and work ethic that reflect the Apex Skin brand internally 

Brand, Communications & Public Relations

  • Own brand standards across all channels, materials, and communications, ensuring consistency at every patient and provider touchpoint
  • Lead public relations strategy including press releases, media relationships, and brand announcements
  • Manage reputation-sensitive communications with discretion and strategic intent
  • Oversee production of photo and video content that reflects the brand and amplifies organizational impact
  • Coordinate media opportunities, interviews, and earned coverage with local and regional outlets
  • Develop and maintain templates and guidelines that scale brand consistency across the marketing team 

Digital Marketing & Performance

  • Assist with strategy and optimization of digital marketing across website, SEO, paid search, and paid social, and Meta campaigns
  • Collaborate with broader marketing team, operations and clinical teams to ensure digital strategy reflects real patient journeys and conversion paths 

Traditional & Broadcast Media

  • Serve as the strategic marketing partner for all 15 regional locations, providing visibility and accountability for each office's marketing activity
  • Oversee direct marketing initiatives in collaboration with office leadership and physician liaisons
  • Address underperformance with structured interventions
  • Identify regional outliers and build data-backed recommendations for improvement
  • Coordinate onboarding of new providers and support location-level marketing launches
  • Manage print asset updates such as rack cards, signage, and patient-facing materials across locations 

Marketing Operations & Project Management

  • Serve as the central intake point for all internal and external marketing requests, managing prioritization across competing stakeholders
  • Build and maintain project management infrastructure that gives leadership visibility into timelines, deliverables, and capacity
  • Manage vendor relationships including media (TV, radio, outdoor, magazine), designers, printers, PR partners, and digital agencies with high expectations for quality and accountability
  • Develop and enforce brand-compliant collateral libraries, templates, and approval workflows
  • Identify process gaps and implement operational improvements that reduce friction for the team and internal partners 

Analytics, Reporting & Accountability

  • Own marketing reporting for leadership, translating performance data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations
  • Build and maintain dashboards that track KPIs across all marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with leadership to set and evaluate monthly and quarterly marketing goals with measurable benchmarks
  • Bring intellectual rigor to campaign analysis, distinguishing correlation from causation and short-term noise from meaningful trends
  • Build and maintain reporting infrastructure that keeps leadership informed on digital performance without requiring manual work each cycle
  • Communicate and participate in monthly budget reporting 

 

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 10 or more years of progressive marketing experience, with demonstrated ownership of strategy and execution
  • 4 or more years of direct team management, including coaching, performance management, and development
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment, without relying on heavy direction from above
  • Experience managing complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities and multiple business lines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including comfort presenting to executive leadership
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience managing vendor relationships and multi-channel campaigns simultaneously 

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, dermatology, aesthetics, or a multi-location service environment
  • Background in brand management, corporate communications, or public relations
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and task platforms, ROI tracking, and conversion optimization
  • Experience supporting provider onboarding, community partnerships, or regional business development
  • Exposure to practice management systems or healthcare marketing compliance considerations

  • Ability to communicate clearly via phone, email, and virtual platforms with vendors and team members.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read online content, marketing materials, and analyze performance metrics.
  • Requires consistent attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a virtual setting.
  • Must adhere to HIPAA and Apex Skin privacy standards while working remotely.
