About You 

As a Cloud Product Sales Specialist, you are the pivotal pre-sales technical expert and sales cycle owner for our AWS practice. You will empower our sales organization and technology advisors with the knowledge and tools necessary to qualify, close, and grow complex cloud opportunities. Your role is central to driving revenue, pipeline generation, and market adoption for this important practice.

What you’ll do and how you’ll have an impact

Product and Technical Expertise

  • Act as the authoritative subject matter expert on AWS services, solutions, pricing, and competitive positioning for the entire organization.
  • Achieve and maintain foundational and associate level industry certifications (e.g. AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS AI Practitioner).
  • Provide basic to complex technical assistance and consulting support to Channel Sales Managers, Account Managers, and Technology Advisors to support customer cloud technology needs.

Sales Cycle Ownership and Revenue Attainment

  • Own the sales cycle from qualification through closure, working in close collaboration with the channel team and technology advisors to meet and exceed assigned sales quotas.
  • Drive pipeline generation through proactive engagement, including designing, executing, and tracking performance of targeted social and email campaigns around AWS services.
  • Collaborate with cross departmental teams to develop client proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Responses to RFPs (RFPs).

Sales Enablement and Advisor Support

  • Conduct continuous training and enablement sessions for Channel Managers and Technology Advisors on new AWS services, solutions, and go-to-market strategies to help them grow their cloud business with AppDirect.
  • Consult and work with internal stakeholders to execute on the practice’s go-to-market strategy and assist customers with their overall cloud transformation strategies.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years in selling software or cloud services, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
  • Basic to solid understanding of core Infrastructure as a Service technologies. Must have experience with AWS platforms.
  • Exceptional professionalism, strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and sell across diverse groups and buyer personas.
  • Must be self-driven, highly organized, and able to work with minimal direction while managing multiple complex priorities.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use various digital platforms like Zendesk, HubSpot, and others for pipeline and opportunity management.
