Role Overview
We are seeking a Senoir CNC Machinist with the abilities to manufacture cutting edge designs for our turbomachinery development. Our 3d printed nickel-based materials allow us to push the boundaries of turbomachinery to its upper limits. Arbors machine shop in El Segundo consists of a Bridgeport, machine lathe, and a Haas Vf3 with 5 axis capabilities. We will soon be expanding to another full 5 axis machine. The Ideal candidate is someone with experience in tight tolerance machining and the ability to set up and run 3d printed parts.
Responsibilities
- Perform precision set-ups of various CNC and manual machines on state-of-the-art assets
- Ability to program using Mastercam
- Prioritize daily work to ensure high machine uptime across the shop.
- Experience with a CMM arm
- Manage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programs
- Operate clean line equipment, laser part marking, and general part finishing requirements
- Operate and effectively use calibrated devices to ensure hardware leaving the machine shop is conforming and meets print requirements
- Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S and general upkeep activities
- Remain flexible in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and support teammates however possible
- Complete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each process
Requirements
- Positive attitude and able to work well on a team
- Able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to stay organized with strong attention to detail
- Able to read mechanical and engineering drawings and interpret tolerances (including GD&T)
- Able to read and interpret fluid or electrical schematics
- Skilled with mechanical hand tools
- Knowledge/experience with AN, MS, MP, and Swagelok fluid connections
- Knowledge/experience with cryogenic systems (gaseous and liquid)
- Knowledge/experience working with electrical components and systems
- Proficient computer skills; comfortable with using email and the Microsoft Office suite

- Ability to stand, kneel, and move for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive movements, including bending, twisting, and using hands to handle or control tools and equipment
- Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels
- Willing to travel for short trips as needed, up to 20% travel

Base Pay: $40.00 - 45.00 USD/hour. The base pay is subject to the applicant's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
