Technical Program Manager, Business Intelligence & Information Systems

El Segundo, CA

About Us

At Arbor Energy & Resources Corporation ("Arbor Energy"), we’re creating technology to power our lives while protecting the planet that sustains them.  Our advanced power systems deliver clean, reliable baseload electricity with zero operating emissions—modular, fuel-flexible, and engineered for the realities of today’s energy demand. At the core is a supercritical CO₂ turbine with integrated carbon capture, designed to bring carbon-neutral power online quickly at meaningful scale.

Our team includes aerospace engineers, combustion experts, and systems thinkers with a shared goal: to build technology worthy of the world we want to live in. While many of us began our journeys looking to the stars, we’re applying that expertise here at home to deliver dependable, emission-free baseload power and a future of lasting abundance.

If you share our values and are drawn to rigorous work with lasting impact, we’d love to learn more about you. Come build what the future will run on.

Explore the Uncharted: We embrace the unknown with curiosity, using courage and discipline to transform uncertainty into opportunity.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to bring structure and momentum to our Business Intelligence & Information Systems function as it scales. You'll be the first program and product hire into the department, starting by bringing visibility and rigor to active technology initiatives—coordinating closely with internal stakeholders and outsourced technology partners to keep projects on track.

As the department's roadmap matures, the role shifts from execution support toward product ownership: gathering requirements, prioritizing work, and owning specific initiatives end to end. As the team grows, there is a path toward leading other team members. We're open to candidates across a range of experience levels, from someone building toward full ownership with some guidance to someone ready to operate with significant autonomy from day one—what matters most is the ability to grow with a department still being built.

This is an onsite opportunity in our El Segundo, CA office. For candidates not based in the greater Los Angeles area, the role includes periodic travel (approximately 15-25%) to support onsite collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Track and coordinate active technology initiatives, keeping status, risks, and dependencies visible to department leadership
  • Own project artifacts including timelines, vendor engagement tracking, meeting notes, and follow-ups
  • Coordinate cross-functional touchpoints with stakeholders across the organization
  • Run recurring project cadences and prepare materials for department and leadership updates
  • Maintain department documentation and support IT service management administration
  • Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into prioritized roadmap items as the role's scope grows
  • Own specific product areas within the department's portfolio end to end, from requirements through delivery
  • Partner with engineering resources and outsourced technology partners to scope and sequence work using product management practices
  • Contribute to the department's multi-year roadmap and help translate it into executable quarterly plans
  • Take on direct reports and mentor team members as department headcount grows

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 3-6+ years of experience in program/project management, technical operations, or a related support role, ideally within IT, data/BI, or a technology-adjacent function
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with competing stakeholders and vendors
  • Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment with limited existing process, with increasing autonomy expected over time
  • Experience coordinating with managed service providers or external technology vendors
  • Working familiarity with Atlassian (Jira/Confluence) or SharePoint, and standard project tracking tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical work into updates for non-technical stakeholders
  • If not based in the greater Los Angeles area, ability to travel approximately 15-25% of the time to support onsite collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to product management practices, including backlog management, prioritization frameworks, and requirements gathering
  • Experience in a small or newly formed team, or having helped build out a function from limited existing structure
  • Familiarity with BI/data tooling, monitoring platforms, or IT service management frameworks
  • Lean Six Sigma, CSPO, CSM, or similar process/product certifications
  • Experience in energy, industrial, or manufacturing environments

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pre-IPO stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (Arbor covers 90% for employees)
  • Basic life insurance fully covered
  • Health savings account (HSA) with matching
  • Flexible savings account (FSA)
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 12+ company holidays, including Earth Day!
  • 401(k)
  • Commuter benefits
  • Annual learning and development stipend
  • And more!

Base Pay: $135,000 – $165,000 USD/year. The salary is subject to the applicant's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
