Enterprise Business Development Manager

Torrance, CA

What we’re building

The marine industry supports recreation, global commerce, and national defense. And yet it runs on technology that hasn't meaningfully changed in fifty years. Until now.

Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry. We're rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. And we're already executing. We started with consumer to develop and harden our core technology. We’re now scaling production of our flagship model with new models and sectors on the horizon. Now we’re extending our platform to  commercial applications, starting with tugs, ferries, and defense, with > years worth of signed contracts and a pipeline that spans every vessel type on the water.

The technology is proven, the momentum is building, and the opportunity is enormous. The marine industry is going electric and Arc is building the platform that powers it.

Who we’re looking for

We're looking for someone fired up by the mission and ready to build. You'll thrive here if you move fast, take ownership, and care about the details.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our Los Angeles headquarters.

Core responsibilities

  • Driving revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities within marina operators, charter fleets, boat dealerships, and direct consumer segments
  • Managing the full sales cycle end-to-end — from prospecting and RFQ/RFP responses to technical presentations, pricing negotiations, and contract execution
  • Translating Arc’s electric marine propulsion technology, battery systems, and software platform into clear, differentiated value propositions for diverse customer profiles
  • Building and maintaining deep, trust-based relationships with key customers, channel partners, and marine industry stakeholders to maximize long-term account growth and retention
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Manufacturing to capture customer requirements, inform product roadmap decisions, and ensure successful vessel delivery
  • Developing and executing strategic account plans that align customer goals with Arc’s commercial objectives and market expansion strategy
  • Monitoring market dynamics including competitor activity, marine electrification trends, regulatory developments (e.g., emission-free zone mandates), and emerging customer needs
  • Preparing technical proposals, bid packages, and sales presentations that accurately reflect Arc’s capabilities, specs, and integration requirements
  • Owning customer satisfaction from pre-sale through commissioning, serving as the primary escalation point for commercial and technical issues
  • Providing market intelligence and sales forecasting to inform Long Range Planning, product pricing strategy, and go-to-market decisions

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical sales or sales engineering experience in marine, clean energy, EV, aerospace, or adjacent advanced hardware industries
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a complex, technical sales environment with long deal cycles
  • Deep understanding of electric powertrain fundamentals — battery systems, electric motors, inverters, charging infrastructure, and thermal management — as applied to marine or EV platforms
  • Proven ability to manage the full commercial cycle: prospecting, solution development, proposal writing, negotiation, and close
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels (end users, fleet managers, C-suite buyers)
  • Experience developing and executing account strategies that drive profitable growth and expand market share
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent) and modern sales analytics tools for pipeline management and forecasting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Marine preferred), Business, or a related technical field

Bonus qualifications

  • Experience in the recreational marine industry — selling to dealerships, marina operators, boat clubs, or charter fleets
  • Familiarity with electric boat or EV charging ecosystem: shore power infrastructure, vessel integration, BMS (Battery Management Systems), or NMEA 2000/0183 protocols
  • Background in energy transition sales — EV charging infrastructure, solar, microgrid, or distributed energy resources — with demonstrated ability to navigate a maturing market
  • Experience responding to RFI/RFP/RFQ processes and crafting technically sophisticated bid packages
  • Passion for sustainability, clean water, and decarbonizing the marine sector
  • Comfortable pushing at a fast but sustainable pace in a high-growth startup environment
  • Enthusiasm for boating and the water — you’d love to take the Arc out on a demo as much as you’d love to close a deal

At Arc, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status. You’re always welcome to reach out even if you don’t meet many of these qualifications. Passion and aptitude make up for a lot.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
