Sr. Aircraft Software Integration Engineer

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced engineer to join the Flight Software Aircraft Software Integration Team at Archer. This role has a strong focus on the successful integration of Archer’s various software systems including Flight Controls, GNC, Electric Engine Controls, and Battery Management System. Additionally, our Aircraft Software Integration Team leads the productization of various off-board tools and the development of technical artifacts used during Laboratory and Flight Testing such as Archer’s Flight Test System Interface automated signal injection scripts.
What You'll Do
● Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, integrate, and test Archer’s safety critical Flight Software.
● Work closely with aircraft systems, verification, flight test, and integration teams.
● Perform performance and function-based testing on a variety of environments, including simulators, software labs, systems labs and aircraft prototypes
● Navigate through systems and software requirements, architecture diagrams, Simulink models, C source code files, lab configuration files, and supplier documents to quickly
identify issues and propose integrated solutions
● Manage and disposition problem reports found during test campaigns and interface with the software development teams to implement corrective actions
● Support aircraft production, ground and flight-testing troubleshooting
● Support the implementation of off-board tools such as Archer’s System Load Manager (SLM) by developing requirements and test plans.
● Support the development and testing of Flight Test System Interface scripts in support of Flight Test activities.
● Develop and continuously improve processes and guidelines to increase safety and efficiency
● Participate in planning, design, scheduling, prioritizing, and tracking the project.

● 6+ years of experience working with critical, complex, real-time embedded systems
● Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree
● Experience with flight controls, avionics, powertrain, or related systems
● Experience with software or systems integration and verification testing
● Working knowledge of hardware and software integration in a lab environment
● Understanding of communication standards and protocols (RS-422/485, CAN, ARINC-429, AFDX, Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
● Familiarity with debuggers and lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and bus analyzers
● Proficiency with C language
● Experience with MATLAB/Simulink
● Fluency with widely used scripting languages like bash and Python
● Must be on-site at Archer’s San Jose, CA office with the ability to travel to Salinas, CA
Bonus Qualifications
● Experience with tools development and automation
● Familiarity with safety standards like DO-178C and ARP4754 to high criticality levels
● Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and multi-threading
● Experience with FPGAs and VHDL or Verilog languages
● Experience with software CI/CD toolchains and processes
● Experience with software interface development, integration, and testing

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $144,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
