Senior ICT Engineer (OSP) — Outside Plant & Connectivity
About the Company
Armada is the hyperscaler for the edge, delivering modular AI infrastructure from first deployment to AI factory with speed, scale and sovereignty. Named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies and to the CNBC Disruptor 50, Armada’s solutions are deployed in over 60 countries globally for organizations ranging from energy to defense.
With nearly $500 million in funding to date, Armada is backed by leading investors including Founders Fund, Lux, BlackRock and Microsoft (M12), alongside strategic partnerships with Microsoft, Dell, Palantir, NVIDIA, SpaceX, and Skydio. We are building the infrastructure layer for sovereign and edge AI - rugged, deployable compute for customers that cannot rely on centralized cloud.
Working at Armada means taking ownership, driving autonomy, and delivering impact. You’ll tackle challenges that haven’t been solved before and help build something transformative from the ground up. What you do here will not only define your career but help further Armada’s mission to bridge the digital divide for customers around the world.
Join the team building modular AI infrastructure at the frontier — designing and deploying the highest-density edge GPU clusters on the planet, reporting to the ICT Design Team Director. Help lead as a high impact strategy influencer as senior ICT engineer for outside-plant infrastructure, connectivity pathways, and cross-discipline coordination on Armada Leviathan deployments. Lead OSP due diligence, fiber distribution design, conduit and tray sizing, and coordination between OSP providers and Armada's mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines.
Location. This role is remote.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Lead OSP due diligence. Internal authority on outside-plant due diligence across new deployments — site assessment, provider qualification, and risk identification.
- Distinguish yourself as a design team leader and liaison to Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil disciplines for coordination on connectivity pathways. Help set our team up for success as an inside authority on clear pathway requirements and constraints. High visibility for upward mobility and promotion as our business grows rapidly
- Fiber distribution design. Own fiber distribution design and iterate project-to-project based on deployment-specific factors including scale, phasing, and site topology.
- Own conduit sizing decisions across fiber ingress, inter-datahall connections, and pathway type selection. Oversee pre-cabled trunk sizing.
- Cable tray loading and bonding/grounding coordination. Own cable tray loading calculations. Coordinate between the OSP provider and Armada's electrical engineers overseeing telecom bonding and grounding (TGB, TBB).
- Oversee pre-construction submittals, including action submittals (technical approvals, product data, drawings, etc) to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Resume building opportunity to support SE lead technical sales motions for highest impact campus opportunities. Planned deployments of 20MW-50MW and greater capacities, deal sizes on average 200MM and greater
Required Qualifications
- BICSI RCDD certification, ANSI, and BICSI credentials.
- Demonstrated in-person experience leading complex OSP fiber projects from groundbreaking through acceptance — multi-mile pathway construction, high-count fiber pulls, splice coordination.
- NEC fluency; TGB and TBB familiarity.
- TIA competency — TIA-942 and TIA-568 and ISO/IEC 11801 international structured cabling.
- Ability to lead initiatives and people. Drive design goals coordinating with ICT product, design, and installation partners. Interface with our manufacturer to drive design implementation when necessary
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Familiarity with fiber acceptance testing and loss calculations — OLTS and OTDR Tier 1 and Tier 2 methodology.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience working closely with construction delivery teams — builders, ICT / Electrical / Mechanical / Hydraulic subcontractors, project consultants, architects, ICT solutions architects, ICT systems integrators, commissioning teams, and end users.
- Understanding and ability to design to national cabling standards (ANSI / TIA / BICSI).
