Senior Frontend Infrastructure Engineer
Armis, the cyber exposure management & security company, protects the entire attack surface and manages an organization’s cyber risk exposure in real time. In a rapidly evolving, perimeter-less world, Armis ensures that organizations continuously see, protect and manage all critical assets - from the ground to the cloud. Armis secures Fortune 100, 200 and 500 companies as well as national governments, state and local entities to help keep critical infrastructure, economies and society stay safe and secure 24/7.
Armis is a privately held company headquartered in California.
Armis is evolving into a platform of interconnected products. To support this growth, we are looking for a Senior Frontend Infrastructure Engineer to join our Development Platform team.
In this role, you won't just be building UI components; you will be building the systems, tools, and standards that empower every Armis engineer to ship high-quality code faster. You will act as a bridge between UX, Product Engineering, and DevOps, ensuring our frontend architecture is scalable, our build times are minimal, and our developer experience is world-class.
What You’ll Do
- Architect the Frontend Foundation: Own the evolution of our core web architecture, focusing on scalability, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Optimize Developer Velocity: Design and maintain our local development environments, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure a frictionless "code-to-deploy" workflow.
- Govern the UI Ecosystem: Lead the technical direction of our shared UI Kit and Design System. Partner with UX to ensure consistency, accessibility (a11y), and performance across all Armis products.
- Standardize Engineering Excellence: Define and implement testing strategies (Unit, Integration, E2E), linting standards, and documentation patterns that raise the bar for the entire R&D organization.
- Bridge the Stack: Collaborate with backend platform engineers to optimize monorepo structures, API contract management (GraphQL/Rest), and full-stack observability.
- AI-Driven Development: Experiment with and integrate AI-assisted tools (like automated PR reviews, or AI-generated testing) into the frontend workflow to multiply team productivity.
What we expect
- The Architect's Mindset: 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a heavy focus on deep frontend architecture and tooling for large-scale web applications.
- React Mastery: 6+ years of expert-level experience with React and its ecosystem. You should understand the "why" behind the "how."
- Core Web Excellence: Expert knowledge of TypeScript/JS (ES6+), CSS/SCSS, and modern HTML. You understand browser internals and performance profiling.
- Tooling & Build Systems: Proven experience with modern build tools, monorepo management (Nx, Lerna, or Turbo), and CI/CD integration.
- Full-Stack Awareness: A solid understanding of backend concepts (Microservices, API design). Proficiency in Python or SQL is a significant plus, as it helps you contribute to the broader platform mission.
- The Multiplier Effect: You have a passion for mentoring other engineers and a track record of driving cross-team initiatives that improve engineering culture.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience building or maintaining a high-scale Design System used by dozens of developers.
- Previous experience in a "Developer Experience" (DevEx) or Platform Engineering team.
- Experience with WebAssembly, Micro-frontends, or advanced state management patterns.
