
Technical Lead, Immunoengineering
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead, Immunoengineering to join our Preclinical R&D team in beautiful Vancouver, BC. You will act as a subject matter expert in immunoengineering, leading experimental strategy and execution while collaborating across multiple disciplines. You will help shape how immunological considerations inform the design, development, and evaluation of our bioprinted tissue therapeutics, working closely with teams in translational engineering, biomaterials, therapeutic biology, translational sciences, histology, in vivo pharmacology, machine learning, and data science.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute immunology strategies to support the development of bioprinted tissue therapeutics with optimized immune responses and long-term performance.
- Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to characterize host-tissue interactions, immune modulation, and therapeutic function.
- Contribute to scientific leadership through cross-functional collaboration, experimental design, data interpretation, and platform advancement.
- Integrate immunological insights into product design, including biomaterial formulation, cell selection, and delivery strategy.
- Partner with computational biology and data science teams to analyze complex datasets and extract meaningful conclusions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and support regulatory and IP-related deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Experience: PhD in Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, Cell Biology, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience. Or an MSc or BSc with 9-11 years of experience.
- Knowledge: Strong expertise in immune biology, including both innate and adaptive responses to biomaterials, cell therapies, or other biologics. Additionally, experience with in vivo models and interpreting data from immunological assays such as flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, cytokine profiling, and immune cell characterization is essential.
- Collaborative Influencer: Demonstrated ability to drive scientific strategy and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
- Communication: Strong analytical, communication, and scientific writing skills with a track record of impactful scientific contributions.
- Detail-Oriented Executor: You balance strategic vision with rigorous attention to safety, compliance, and operational detail.
- Proactive & Driven: You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and bring a sense of urgency and ownership to your work.
The hiring range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000, annually. Our pay scales are based on market data to ensure that compensation is competitive and fair. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers.
