USG Capture Operations Analyst 

The Capture Operations Analyst is the backbone of Astranis’s US Government capture operations, working with both the business development team and capture team to ensure the smooth execution of pipeline management, marketing initiatives, and proposal activities.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The analyst will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of Astranis’s government opportunity pipeline, monitoring federal procurement portals for new business, and providing essential administrative and logistical support to drive our government growth strategy forward. In addition, the analyst will aid the capture team in developing proposal responses, briefing and marketing materials, and trade show organization and coordination. 

Role

  • Pipeline & CRM Data Management: Maintain and update the Astranis’s Business Development pipeline and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Ensure all opportunity data, contact information, and review statuses are accurate and current.
  • Solicitation Monitoring & Research: Actively monitor federal procurement portals (e.g., SAM.gov, NASA Spires, etc.) for new solicitations, Requests for Information (RFIs), Sources Sought notices, and industry days relevant to Astranis’s capabilities, disseminating findings to the appropriate Capture and BD leads.
  • Marketing & Communications Support: Assist in drafting, editing, and producing customer responses and marketing materials tailored for US Government audiences. This includes capability statements, past performance summaries, product summaries, and presentations for customer meetings.
  • Proposal Management Assistance: Support the Proposal Manager and Capture Manager during the proposal lifecycle. Assist with proposal management, compliance matrix development, data call coordination, section authoring, and logistical support for color team reviews.
  • Logistical & Event Coordination: Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items for capture strategy sessions and executive gate reviews. Manage logistics and scheduling for industry events, trade shows, and customer site visits.

 

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in business administration, operations, or engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in business development support, technical sales, operations, or other administrative role, preferably within the government contracting sector.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to draft professional marketing copy and correspond effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Hyper-focused attention to detail, particularly regarding data entry, document formatting, and compliance checking.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to 25% of time
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Bonus

  • B.S. in engineering or B.A. in business
  • Familiarity with standard federal government procurement processes, terminology (e.g., RFI, RFP, RPP), and portals (SAM.gov)
  • Federal-level capture/proposal execution and/or government acquisition experience
  • Previous exposure to standard proposal development processes (e.g., Shipley Associates methodology)
  • Working knowledge and interest in satellites, US government space missions (both civil and national security space)
  • Eligible to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Less than 5 years since previously active TS//SCI Security Clearance

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

Base Salary

$115,000 - $185,000 USD
