POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the strategic direction, performance, and execution of all revenue-generating activities across the organization. The VP of Sales leads sales strategy, market positioning, customer acquisition, key account development, pricing discipline, and pipeline management across service, project, and environmental offerings. This role ensures that sales efforts produce profitable work aligned with the company’s operational capacity and execution standards. The VP of Sales is accountable for building a scalable sales organization that delivers consistent growth while maintaining strong customer relationships and market reputation. As a member of the executive leadership team, the VP of Sales collaborates closely with the President, VP of Operations, and other senior leaders to balance growth objectives, capacity planning, customer experience, and long-term strategic positioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement structured onboarding and continuous training programs.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales team across all business lines focused on professionalism, integrity, and long-term customer relationships.
- Establish clear roles, territories, quotas, and performance expectations.
- Recruit, coach, and retain top talent while addressing underperformance decisively.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus.
- Set strategic goals to improve sales performance aligned with the OPP (One Page Plan).
- Ensure salespeople comply with company policies, legal requirements, and customer commitments.
- Maintain strong pricing discipline with a clear understanding of margins, cost drivers, and risk.
- Prepare forecasts and projections, communicating risks and variances to ensure the operations team is positioned for success.
- Continually analyze sales performance to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Maintain effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or GED and Minimum 10–15 years of sales experience in mechanical, construction, industrial services, or a closely related field.
- Experience building and leading high-performing sales teams.
- Ability to implement structured sales processes and accountability systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVACR/Plumbing/Mechanical experience
- Familiarity with MCA / PHCC / AIA Guidelines
- Field estimating
- Experience selling service agreements and recurring revenue programs.
- Experience working with facility managers, general contractors, or institutional clients.
