Job Description

A client of Attain Talent is seeking a Senior Zuora Revenue Consultant for a NetSuite COA Reimplementation engagement supporting an enterprise SaaS environment.

Our client is a NetSuite-focused consulting firm specializing in financial architecture, accounting transformation, and governance-led system design. We are currently executing a strategic NetSuite Chart of Accounts (COA) reimplementation for an enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) client and are seeking a Senior Zuora Revenue Consultant to serve as the dedicated Zuora subject-matter expert on our delivery team. Our ideal partner for this role is a highly experienced independent consultant or small boutique practice with a well-established client base — someone who has been operating independently for a decade or more and brings the stability, depth, and professional maturity that comes with a sustained consulting practice.

This is a meaningful, high-accountability engagement. Our team holds primary configuration authority for NetSuite, Zuora Billing, and Zuora Revenue, and the selected consultant will own all Zuora-specific deliverables from discovery through production cutover. The client’s Zuora Revenue instance manages an enterprise-scale population of active revenue schedule waterfalls under an Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 606 architecture — the remapping, migration, and validation of that population is the centerpiece of this workstream.

Job Responsibilities

  • Discovery & Design
    • Assess and document the current-state Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue GL configuration: journal entry rule sets, performance obligation (POB) account assignments, revenue arrangement templates, and waterfall account configurations
    • Map all segment dimensions referenced in Zuora to the proposed future-state COA structure and contribute field-level mapping workbooks to the integrated solution specification
    • Advise on Zuora Revenue data model implications of the account structure redesign and segment model changes
  • Build
    • Reconfigure Zuora Billing journal entry rule sets across all transaction types to reflect the redesigned NetSuite GL structure
    • Reconfigure Zuora Revenue POB account assignments across all active templates, covering recognized revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled receivable, and contra-revenue accounts
    • Execute the migration of the client’s full revenue schedule waterfall population to the remapped account structure — controlled, auditable, zero revenue recognition impact
    • Validate updated product-rate-plan-to-GL mappings and support IT General Controls (ITGC) configuration change documentation
  • Test
    • Design and execute System Integration Testing (SIT) scenarios validating end-to-end revenue flows from Zuora Billing through Zuora Revenue into NetSuite GL, including subledger-to-GL reconciliation
    • Execute financial close simulations: full month-end and quarter-end close under the redesigned COA, including deferred revenue roll forward validation
    • Facilitate Zuora User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with client Finance and RevOps stakeholders; manage defect triage through resolution and sign-off
  • Deploy
    • Support production cutover sequencing for Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue
    • Validate post-cutover data integrity and deliver a complete configuration handoff package: journal rules, POB templates, and mapping inventory

Required Skills

  • 5+ years hands-on Zuora Revenue (formerly RevPro) configuration in production: journal entry rules, revenue arrangement templates, POB account assignments
  • 3+ years Zuora Billing configuration: journal entry rule sets, product catalog-to-GL mapping, billing transaction type account assignments
  • Direct experience executing a GL account remapping within a live Zuora Revenue environment, including revenue schedule migration and subledger-to-GL reconciliation validation
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606 applied to SaaS: Standalone Selling Price (SSP) allocation, contract modifications, variable consideration, deferred revenue rollforward, and multi-book architecture
  • Experience at or consulting to mid-market or enterprise B2B SaaS companies with multi-element subscription arrangements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in public company or pre-IPO environments with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, Big 4 audit readiness, or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting obligations
  • Experience migrating revenue schedules across a fiscal year boundary or during an active audit period
  • Zuora Revenue certification or formal Zuora training credentials
  • Experience with parallel reporting validation (legacy COA vs. new COA) during a cutover window
  • Any exposure to NetSuite as a GL system of record is a plus, though the specific ERP is not a meaningful differentiator for this role

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
