Objective Summary: The Planner will support the project team by designing portions of projects. The person in this position will also be responsible for addressing land planning and design issues under minimal supervision. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regards to the essential functions of the job found below.
Responsibilities:
- Understand project scope and confer with other project team members.
- Conduct due diligence for project:
- Gather current and historical data from multiple reference sources (e.g., zoning ordinances, master plans, wetland maps, and existing drawings).
- Interpret land ordinances and other materials.
- Review with project team members.
- Conduct field work:
- Participate in site investigations (e.g. tree identification, wetland delineation, natural features inventories, and wetland mitigation plans).
- Prepare design and reports:
- Utilize Atwell Product Quality Manual preparation guides.
- Perform a variety of land planning tasks (e.g. conceptual layout, site analysis plans, planning reports, planting plans, and site data calculations).
- Utilize AutoCAD and graphics-related software packages.
- Attend meetings with project team.
- Communicate with client, municipalities, and agencies as directed.
- Prepare mark-ups for finished drawings:
- Incorporate client and senior project team member's review comments onto redline plans.
- Review finished drawings for in-house submittal:
- Verify revisions completed by other team members
- Use and understand land and site planning procedures and regulations:
- Apply appropriate Atwell Standard Operating Guidelines as well as local and state guidelines.
- Ensure product quality and Atwell reputation by following the Atwell Product Quality Manual and established standards.
- Prepare public presentations to clients, municipalities, and agencies as directed.
- Achieve performance objectives by meeting or exceeding designated chargeability and hours worked.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Land Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture, or industry equivalent.
Experience:
- Zero-four (0-4) years of practical experience in related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and GIS
Pay Range
$65,000 - $85,000 USD
