LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) - Remote

Author Health seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team offering remote, virtual-first care to seniors with serious mental illness (SMI). This LCSW will be instrumental in delivering compassionate and comprehensive care to a vulnerable population, leveraging their expertise in mental health to improve patient outcomes. The role requires a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with SMI and the ability to provide tailored interventions through a telehealth platform.

WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?

  • Conduct virtual initial assessments and ongoing care for seniors with serious mental illness (SMI), in collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans, which may include coordinating psychotherapy or other treatment modalities, and assessing the need for referrals to specialized care.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to address the holistic needs of patients, including their physical health, behavioral health, and social well-being.
  • Provide patient care and education tailored to the individual’s age, abilities, educational background, and cultural context, often involving family members in the care process.
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians (PCPs) and other medical professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to patient health.
  • Offer timely psychiatric urgent care and be responsive to patients’ immediate needs.
  • Document all clinical work comprehensively and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Adapt to a novel care delivery paradigm and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING:

Qualifications:

  • Current LCSW licensure in Florida with eligibility for Texas licensure.
  • 3-5 years of experience post-licensure.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Professional Skills:

  • Comfortable navigating the dynamic landscape of a startup environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional patient-caregiver relationships.
  • Skilled in engaging patients and caregivers through telehealth and telephonic communication.

Clinical Experience:

  • Proficient in screening and differential diagnosis of mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Experienced in developing comprehensive treatment plans for mental health and substance use disorders.

Therapeutic Techniques:

  • Knowledgeable in evidence-based psychosocial treatments and behavioral interventions, such as motivational interviewing, problem-solving treatment, and behavioral activation, tailored to individual mental health needs.

This role is fully remote. Physical requirements include the ability to use a computer. Minimal travel, up to 10% anticipated.
