Retail Store Manager

Job Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for managing and administering the store’s performance, building maintenance, hiring and training, payroll reports, overseeing employees’ activities, and developing strategies to meet sales goals. This individual is in charge of employees’ development and mentorship to improve their retail skills. They will support and address high-level customer service needs while cultivating and maintaining exceptional customer interactions between their staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the work of all store associates
- Ensure accountability and equity providing constant feedback and coaching to the staff
- Demonstrate strong work ethics and lead by example, upholding and promoting company policies, guidelines and procedures
- Actively and strategically engage employees to achieve superior results
- Implement sales strategies with team to meet company goals
- Effectively and regularly communicate company changes and initiatives to employees
- Supervise, train and assist employees in customer service, store processes and product promotions
- Conduct employee performance appraisals, identify training needs, and provide development opportunities to achieve high execution
- Manage employee issues and grievances under the guidance and direction of leadership
- Implement cross-training for employees and Assistant Manager to achieve consistent high productivity
- Hire and train new employees to ensure adequate personnel at all times
- Demonstrate and manage high levels of customer care
- Analyze sales reports to strategize and determine weekly business objectives
- Report to leadership on store’s key performance indicators and needs
- Develop and maintain a schedule for employees
- Ensure daily restock is happening effectively
- Ensure inventory levels are accurate and conduct inventory counts
- Collaborate with Assistant Manager and Visual Manager in planning and executing an innovative visual environment
- Assist with and delegate process for omni-channel sales and fulfillment
- Create and recommend store events and ideas to increase sales and improve brand awareness and presence in the community
Skills, Abilities & Requirements
- Proven successful experience in retail industry
- In-depth knowledge of basic business management processes
- Ability to work retail hours including weekends and holidays
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Customer service-oriented
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work with individuals and teams
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and follow store’s dress code
- Maintain a positive attitude, high energy, and focus on customer satisfaction
- Analytical and math skills to create and analyze reports and sales data
- Ability to confidently operate office equipment such as computers, printers and telephones

- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb, walk, and stand for long durations of time
- Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of up to 20 pounds
- Vision abilities include close, distance, color peripheral, and depth perception
- Noise level in the work environment is moderate
