Senior Project Manager (f/m/d)
Purpose of Position
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to serve as a delivery partner to senior leadership, translating strategic vision into coordinated action. In this role, you will help shape how Awin achieves its objectives by taking ownership of complex, high-impact projects and programmes spanning business, finance, operations, and technology functions.
This position is ideal for a generalist who thrives at the intersections of an international organisation. You will be adept at navigating ambiguity, connecting the dots across functions, and building trust-based relationships at all levels of the organisation, through exceptional organisational, critical thinking, influencing and communication skills.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management, you will join a globally distributed team of Project Managers, collectively driving high-quality delivery and fostering a culture of ambition and excellence.
Key Tasks
- Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, cross-functional projects and programs, managing scope, dependencies, milestones, and outcomes.
- Define and enforce fit-for-purpose projects and program documentation, governance frameworks, roles, and decision forums tailored to complexity, stakeholder seniority and organizational context.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the project, promoting alignment, simplifying complexity, and enabling effective teamwork across geographies and levels.
- Monitor project health using metrics, KPIs, and reporting structures to provide leadership with clear, actionable insights.
- Present updates, proposals, and recommendations confidently to senior management, advocating for the perspectives and needs of the project team.
- Continuously assess emerging risks, evaluating impact and likelihood, and proactively implement mitigation and contingency plans while responding decisively to obstacles when they arise.
- Lead cost-benefit analyses, scenario planning, and implement change management techniques to drive adoption and deliver measurable impact.
- Own professional development, identifying skill gaps and pursuing growth opportunities aligned with role and business needs.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of PMO standards, tools, and ways of working.
Skills & Expertise
- 6+ years’ experience leading complex, cross-functional projects or programs in fast-paced, international environments; consultancy experience in digital marketing or e-commerce is desirable.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) or relevant degree with applied knowledge of advanced methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Situationally adaptive, capable of exercising judgment and flexibility to combine project management rigor and practical experience with new approaches for each project environment.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in managing distributed teams and navigating diverse personalities to foster collaboration.
- Confident and persuasive presenter, able to articulate ideas, advocate for team perspectives, and secure alignment at all levels, including up to Board-level.
- Analytical and strategic thinker, able to tackle complex and ambiguous challenges, synthesize information, assess options and propose pragmatic solutions even when no clear path exists.
- Strong change management and influence skills, including ability to plan adoption strategies, mitigate resistance, and maintain team engagement.
- Rigorous about detail and documentation whilst comfortably keeping a benefit-orientated, holistic view of progress.
- Self-driven, accountable, and resilient under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in dynamic environments.
- Models a feedback-driven culture, actively seeking input to improve delivery and leadership effectiveness.
- Curious and proactive about learning new technologies, particularly AI; hands-on AI proficiency is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with project management tools such as Asana is desirable.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
You won't have all those skills. You won't have all that experience. But perfect is the enemy of good enough. If you think your skills and experience are a good fit for the role we describe, we'd love to hear from you.
