Cybersecurity Technical Specialist

Axle is seeking a highly experienced Cybersecurity Technical Specialist to lead and support cybersecurity and data center solution design and implementation at the enterprise level. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical experience and the ability to advise on and enforce evolving cybersecurity policy, compliance, and governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of specialized solutions, with emphasis on cybersecurity and data center technologies.
• Guide the evolution of enterprise cybersecurity programs and maturity models.
• Enforce cybersecurity policies and automate compliance enforcement across systems and platforms.
• Conduct risk-based compliance assessments and define remediation strategies.
• Support policy development, review, and updates aligned with industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001, etc.).
• Provide technical subject matter expertise on GRC tool implementation (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow GRC).
• Collaborate with client and technical teams on cyber posture improvement and incident response planning.
• Support staff augmentation by mentoring or embedding with client-side cyber operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise IT or cybersecurity experience, with a proven track record in solution architecture or implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (advanced degrees or additional experience may substitute).
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, compliance frameworks, and security automation strategies.
• Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC, CCSP) are highly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience implementing or operating GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, RSA Archer).
• Strong familiarity with NIST RMF, FISMA, FedRAMP, or similar frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in policy enforcement, remediation, and automation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders across technical and executive levels.
