Axle is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Business Development Manager, Staffing Solutions with deep expertise in the healthcare, research, and technology domains, spanning both federal government contracting and commercial industry. This role is designed for a top producer and accomplished sales professional with an existing portfolio of clients and a proven track record of generating an immediate revenue impact.

 Overview: 
The Business Development Manager, Staffing Solutions accelerates company growth by developing new business, cultivating client partnerships, and executing staffing strategies that win competitive bids, maximize margins, and expand market share, measured by clear performance and profitability targets. This position offers an exceptional incentive plan aligned with individual and company performance. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Leverage long-standing client relationships and industry connections to achieve business growth and expand market presence in healthcare, research, and technology sectors. 

  • Develop and execute aggressive sales strategies to capture market share in both federal contracting and commercial enterprise accounts. 

  • Negotiate profitable rates, contract terms, and SOW agreements to maximize gross margins. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Program Managers, procurement officers, and commercial decision-makers, providing solutions that advance their goals and priorities. 

  • Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts to identify new project pipelines and staffing needs. 

  • Build multi-level relationships to secure sole-source and long-term contract awards. 

  • Collaborate with recruitment and delivery for high-demand, hard-to-fill roles in healthcare, biomedical research, IT, data analytics, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. 

  • Ensure rapid, quality-driven candidate submittals that meet skill requirements. 

  • Track and report on sales pipeline, contract wins, and gross margin by sector. 

  • Forecast revenue growth by account and domain, ensuring alignment with company P&L goals. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field (Master’s a plus). 

  • Proven track record of revenue generation in staffing or workforce solutions for healthcare, research, and technology sectors. 

  • Existing portfolio of client relationships in the private and public sectors. 

  • Experience building influential relationships and leveraging strategic networking to open doors and drive business growth. 

  • Understanding of procurement processes, capture management, and proposal development. 

  • Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to close high-value deals. 

  • Revenue-first, entrepreneurial mindset. 

  • Strategic leadership and operational excellence.

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
