Director, Chief of Staff (Controllership)

Your Impact
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and highly organized Chief of Staff (CoS) to support the CAO which spans across commercial operations, commercial controllership, NPI, accounting and finance operations, M&A and strategic partnership due diligence and integration, Tax and Corporate Audit. This role is a hybrid function, with about half of the time dedicating to the CoS role and remaining time on special projects supporting CAO transformation initiatives. This role acts as a trusted advisor to the CAO leadership team, ensuring alignment of priorities, efficient operations, and execution of key financial and organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with a finance or accounting background who thrives in fast-paced environments and is capable of navigating multiple competing priorities across enterprise-wide cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Strategic & Operational Support
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CAO, helping drive execution of priorities and department goals.
- Facilitate effective decision-making by gathering information, conducting analyses, and preparing executive-level briefings, reports, MBR/QBR and presentations.
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives across the finance organization to meet our fast pace growth (e.g., finance transformation, process and AI automation, system upgrades).
- Financial & Business Insights
- Analyze financial and operational data to support strategic recommendations and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with key business partners outside of CAO organization such as FP&A, IT, Operations, and Sales on cross-functional initiatives and process optimization.
- Monitor goals, KPIs, reporting timelines, and compliance milestones to ensure alignment.
- Responsible for the generation and ongoing monitoring of the annual Controllership operating expense budget.
- Responsible for presentation materials to executive leadership team, including COO & CFO, as well as Audit Committee materials.
- Team & Culture Enablement
- Drive engagement, communication, and team-building efforts across the broader CAO organization.
- Support talent development, succession planning, and hiring efforts in partnership with HR.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts and change management across the finance function.
- Communication & Coordination
- Prepare internal communications, presentations, and dashboards for executive meetings, board updates, and audits.
- Coordinate finance leadership meetings, set agendas, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or operations, with exposure to controllership functions.
- Prior experience in FP&A, consulting, M&A or business partnership role is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of building, pioneering, and implementing new processes with a hands-on approach.
- Strong project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills with robust cross-functional experience.
- Resourceful in data mining, with strong modeling skills to uncover insights and drive informed decision-making.
- Ability to translate complex financial and accounting concepts into simple communication.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks with precision and professionalism.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a multi-national public company or highly regulated industry.
- Familiarity with financial transformation, digital finance tools, and automation initiatives.
- Comfortable navigating in dynamic, matrixed environments and with executive-level stakeholders.
