Your Impact
As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) at Axon, you’ll play a vital role in shaping how we measure, control, and improve product quality across our global supply base. You'll develop and help automate inspection methods, support supplier performance, and partner across engineering, manufacturing, and metrology to scale our quality operations.
We're looking for someone who’s excited to work hands-on with in measurement method development & qualification, inspection system automation, understand GD&T, passionate about quality data analytics, and ready to take ownership of key supplier relationships.
What You’ll Do
Location: Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ with up to 25% travel
Reports to: Sr. Supplier Quality Manager, North America

Measurement Method Development
- Program and optimize automated vision inspection systems (e.g., Keyence, Micro Vu, OGP) for simple and complex mechanical geometries.
- Collaborate on automating measurement workflows and generate robust inspection procedures for routine production components/assemblies.
- Conduct Measurement System Analyses (MSA) and Gage R&R studies with variable and attribute data types.
- Ensure inspection methods meet relevant compliance standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
Inspection Planning & Sampling Strategy
- Define risk-based inspection plans for supplier provided parts.
- Contribute to automation of sampling strategies using ANSI Z1.4/1.9 and AQL rules.
- Translate engineering drawings and GD&T into practical, scalable inspection criteria.
- Ensure alignment of supplier OQC data with Axon IQC inspection processes.
Data Analytics & Quality Monitoring
- Monitor supplier performance using dashboards and control charts (Power BI, Minitab)
- Identify and address trends in OQC vs. IQC data; lead NCMR/SCAR resolution with internal and external partners.
- Support cost-of-quality, in-house inspection capacity and process capability tracking.
Supplier Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Take ownership of quality performance and qualification for assigned suppliers or contract manufacturers.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams in Quality, IQC, Engineering, and Metrology to resolve issues and improve measurement capability.
- Lead/participate in supplier audits, equipment/process qualifications, and measurement system alignment projects.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering—or technology equivalent.
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing quality roles.
- Exposure to automated inspection systems, metrology, data analytics.
- Understanding of inspection techniques, GD&T, and quality tools (MSA, FMEA, PPAP, sampling standards).
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
