Your Impact
You will be part of the Global Manufacturing Operations organization. You will lead an important function, Analytics, within the Operations Business Accelerators team. In this role, you will bring leadership and technical expertise in Analytics technology to drive results for key performance improvements. You will be the thought leader that continuously evolves the useability and expansion of the BI Solutions portfolio across Operations Functions.
This role will work closely with business partners within IT, Global Operations functions (e.g., Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and Global Supply Chain) and other support teams. You will be the expert on protecting Axon Global Operations data through thoughtful governance and best practices surrounding the development of the Operations Analytics / BI Solutions portfolio. Provide leadership, mentoring, and team oversight for 4+ direct reports.
This position has a global focus and reports to the Senior Director of Operations Business Accelerators.
What You’ll Do
- Work with senior leadership to shape the vision and strategic plans for Analytics to align with Axon technologies and enterprise initiatives and goals.
- Lead the Analytics technology roadmaps, innovations, and implement meaningful solutions to realize business value for Axon Global Operations functions.
- Lead and provide technical expertise to direct reports to deliver on project commitments on Analytics for Global Operations. This includes personally contributing to the design and launch of high-impact BI solutions aligned with executive priorities.
- Be the evangelist of cutting-edge AI/ML technologies to showcase and socialize the new capabilities across Global Operations, applying innovative thinking to the toughest business problems.
- Create a culture of Continuous Improvement and drive results. Act quickly to identify viable solutions.
- Manage and deliver investment and benefits tracking for Analytics to ensure Operations leadership has visibility into the business value returns for the solutions that your team develops.
- Leverage waterfall project management methodologies to experiment, pilot, and deploy solutions including fast-fail, and scaled deployments, using formal project management software.
- Become a role model and mentor to coach and strengthen the technical expertise of the Axon Global Operations and broader technology community in partnership with IT.
- Manage a team of BI analysts. Help the team develop their career path and development plans that fit their career goals. Also, develop a deep bench of technical expertise within the team that is not only meeting current project requirements but also well positioned to evolve for future technology trends / needs.
What You Bring
- B.S. degree in Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, or other quantitative field.
- Requires 6+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4+ years and a Master’s degree or technical program.
- Proven record of supporting Operations functions such as: Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Proven record of developing analytic solutions at scale (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Sigma).
- Proven record of managing large scale corporate initiatives with a wide array of stakeholders.
- Advanced SQL (structured query language) experience. Ability to both interpret and write complex data queries.
- Advanced Data Storytelling experience. Ability to synthesize business insights from raw data, tailored for business leadership.
- Program management skills: Stakeholder management, Communication, and Resources management.
- Ability to effectively prioritize the engagements, projects, and tasks for the team.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365.
- PL-300 Microsoft Power BI Analyst Certification
- Alteryx Designer Certification(s)
- Snowflake Snowpro Certification(s)
Work Location
This role is based out of our Scottsdale/Phoenix and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
