Vice President, Strategic Finance & Enablement
Reporting into the Global CFO, the Vice President of Strategic Finance & Enablement partners closely with executives, senior leaders and the board to drive Azurity’s growth through mergers & acquisitions, treasury & cashflow management, investor relations and leading financial planning & analysis for the R&D and corporate development functions.
This position requires strategic thinking, strong business acumen, communication and influencing skills and an ability to manage multiple divisions simultaneously. The ideal candidate has the ability to lead analysis of acquisition through development of financial models with multiple cases and is excellent at translating raw financial and operating data into concise, informative reports.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead financial support for the licensing, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and commercial partnership deals conducted by Corporate Development, while working closely with the cross functional team to conduct due diligence, valuation, modeling and build initial integration plans for proposed transaction
- Lead the enterprise value builds of all assumption models which includes but it is not limited to assets, entities, and services
- Drive the investment transaction process including: sourcing, screening, modeling, valuation proposal, investment return projections, term sheet preparation, due diligence, negotiations and integration planning
- Lead FP&A for the science & corporate development functions, including budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning with the CFO and executives
- Lead treasury & cashflow management, including debt and lender compliance across the global business for long-range planning and prioritization against the 5-year plan
- Create and maintain dynamic 5-year financial model for Azurity business in partnership with FP&A leadership
- Attract external talent from the pharmaceutical marketplace, and accelerate the development of high potential talent
- Support development of board presentation and memos
Education & Experience
- 10+ years of equivalent experience in life science or healthcare investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or management consulting (strategy or finance).
- Bachelors Degree required (Masters preferred)
- Previous experience working for or with venture capital or private equity firms and/or at a startup a plus
- Experience interacting with a variety of parties/stakeholders (such as C-suite, investors, bankers, lawyers, and other third-party advisors) in a transaction setting
- Deep modeling familiarity, including proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint (or equivalent)
- Able to manage multiple initiatives and long-term projects simultaneously
- Facilitation and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional and cross-border teams
- Ability to travel 25% of the time.
