Vice President, Market Access & Strategic Account
Position Overview
The Vice President, Market Access & Strategic Accounts will serve as a key member of the leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing Azurity’s U.S. market access strategy. This role will oversee strategic accounts, contracting, pricing, and patient reimbursement programs to optimize product access, maximize value, and drive sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep expertise in pharmaceutical market access, strong payer and channel relationships, and the ability to deliver results through strategic planning, collaboration, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement comprehensive U.S. market access strategies to ensure broad and sustainable access to Azurity’s portfolio.
- Lead payer, PBM, GPO, specialty pharmacy, and IDN account strategies to optimize formulary positioning and contracting outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders (Commercial, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal, Compliance) to align on pricing, reimbursement, and contracting strategies.
Account & Contract Management
- Build and maintain relationships with national and regional payers, government agencies, specialty pharmacies, and health systems.
- Negotiate and manage contracts across commercial and government channels, ensuring competitive positioning and compliance with all regulations.
- Oversee value-based agreements, rebate programs, and innovative contracting solutions.
Pricing & Access Strategy
- Set strategic pricing direction and ensure consistency across the portfolio.
- Monitor competitive dynamics, healthcare policy, and market trends to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
- Partner with Finance to model pricing scenarios, contract performance, and budget impact.
Patient Access & Reimbursement
- Direct patient support and reimbursement programs to minimize barriers to access and improve the patient experience.
- Collaborate with HUB services, specialty pharmacies, and field reimbursement teams to deliver high-quality patient access solutions.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing market access team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or related) strongly preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical market access, strategic accounts, or related commercial leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success managing payer relationships, contracts, and reimbursement strategies in a mid-size or specialty pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, pricing policy, and reimbursement landscape.
• Proven track record of leading teams and influencing executive stakeholders.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving.
