Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Office 365 Administrator with 7-10 years of experience to manage and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment. This role requires hands-on experience with Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Purview for compliance, and Microsoft Defender for security. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless collaboration, secure access, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

 Principle Responsibilities 

  • Proficient in understanding and managing O365, MS E3, and E5 licenses.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Exchange Online mailboxes, distribution groups, and mail flow rules.
  • Manage email retention policies, litigation holds, and mailbox permissions.
  • Monitor spam, phishing, and malware filtering via Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
  • Manage user identities, roles, and access policies.
  • Configure Conditional Access, MFA, and SSO integrations.
  • Maintain group memberships, dynamic groups, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Monitor and respond to security alerts in Microsoft Defender portals.
  • Configure threat protection policies for email, endpoints, and cloud apps.
  • Conduct periodic security reviews and implement remediation actions.
  • Implement and manage data loss prevention (DLP), information protection, and retention policies.
  • Support eDiscovery, audit logs, and compliance reporting.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenant consolidation during M&A activities.
  • Performed identity mapping, domain consolidation, and license reconciliation.
  • Migrated users, mailboxes, SharePoint sites, and Teams channels across tenants.
  • Led end-to-end Exchange Online mailbox migrations using tools like Microsoft Exchange Admin Center, PowerShell, and third-party solutions
  • Implemented compliance and security policies to align with unified governance standards.
  • Manage backup solutions for Microsoft 365 & on-prem systems and test restore procedures
  • Oversee patch management for Windows servers, endpoints, and M365 apps.
  • Track vulnerabilities and ensure timely remediation.
  • Improve existing processes through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation
  • Serves as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience managing Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong understanding of Exchange Online, Entra ID, Purview, and Defender.
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM), authentication and authorization in particular
  • Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions will be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of Azure AD / IAM processes part of the Microsoft cloud
  • Knowledge in Scripting languages like PowerShell or python
  • Building servers and virtual machines in compliance with established practice.
  • Able to work in project teams, under pressure, facilitate discussion, decision-making and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent communicator, able to engage and effectively respond to diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts and participate in on call
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, SC-300, SC-400, SC-200) are a plus.
