This role delivers two of Babyzone's practical, research-informed sessions for parents and children aged 0–5: 

• Everyday Maths helps parents and children build early mathematical understanding through play, interaction and daily routines, so families feel confident using maths naturally at home and in everyday life. 

• Nest helps parents and children build social and emotional skills through play, connection and shared routines, so families feel more confident handling tantrums, staying calm under stress and building connection with their child.

The Opportunity 

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will deliver both the Everyday Maths and Nest curricula at Babyzone [Hub] each week. On each delivery day you will lead up to five sessions: two to three Everyday Maths sessions and two to three Nest sessions. You will play a vital role in creating a warm, engaging and safe learning environment where parents, carers and children learn together, with the carer-child relationship at the centre of every session. 

You will: 

• Deliver the Everyday Maths and Nest curricula with fidelity, ensuring sessions follow each programme's intended structure, learning goals and ethos 

• Model age-appropriate mathematical play and interactions in Everyday Maths sessions, building families' confidence to use maths in daily life 

• Lead the fixed ritual elements of Nest sessions, such as the Hello Song, Feelings Map check-in and Goodbye Song, which give children a predictable and regulating structure across the programme 

• Model calm, regulated adult presence, understanding that children borrow calm from the adults around them 

• Make small, appropriate adjustments to delivery in response to the needs of local families while preserving core content 

• Prepare thoroughly for each session, including completing the required online pre-delivery modules for both programmes on the Babyzone learning platform 

• Create a warm, inclusive and supportive atmosphere where all families feel encouraged to participate, without ever requiring participation 

• Manage group dynamics to maintain a calm, positive and engaging session environment 

• Prioritise safeguarding, safety and wellbeing at all times, in line with Babyzone expectations 

• Work collaboratively with the Hub Manager and wider Babyzone team to support smooth hub delivery and continuous improvement 

• Support the set-up and breakdown of the Babyzone space, including moving between Everyday Maths and Nest resources during the day, and be available during hub hours (8:30am–3:00pm) on delivery days 

• Maintain accurate attendance and session records, delivering up to five sessions per day with a maximum of ten families per Everyday Maths session and twelve families per Nest session 

What You'll Need 

We're looking for someone who: 

• Has professional teaching experience with nursery, pre-primary or primary-aged children 

• Has a strong understanding of early childhood development, learning through play, and social and emotional learning 

• Is confident building trust and rapport with families from diverse backgrounds 

• Communicates clearly and confidently with both adults and children 

• Is reliable, organised and comfortable delivering two structured, curriculum-based programmes in the same day 

• Has a strong awareness of safeguarding responsibilities and a commitment to safe practice

Role Details 

• Location: Babyzone Grimsby, Horizon Youth Zone, Garth Lane, Grimsby North East Lincolnshire DN31 1RP 
• Hours: 8:30am–3:00pm on delivery days (Fridays, term time only) 
• Contract: Part-time, self-employed (professional indemnity and public liability insurance required) 
• Pay: £200 per delivery day 
• Start Date: 6th November 2026 
• Reports to: Hub Manager / Programme Lead
