About the Role

The Senior Network Engineer is a highly motivated and well-organized individual responsible for providing daily network operations support, ensuring the seamless functionality of Baron Capital network infrastructure. This role involves assisting in the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new hardware and services, as well as creating and implementing network design and migration plans. 

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of network technologies, including but not limited to the following:

  • Develop network design, implementation, and migration plans to meet business needs.
  • Experience in designing and operating secure hybrid multi-cloud systems (GCP, Azure, AWS) including cloud connectivity and Infrastructure-as-code. Knowledge of cloud networking infrastructure like DNS, VPC, Firewalls, SGs, CASB, IDP, IAM.
  • Configure network equipment and services to optimize performance.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance network performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external technical teams during the design, development, and implementation of network-related projects.
  • Produce and review technical documentation for network implementations and procedures.
  • Conduct daily morning checks in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Document and track Incidents, Problems, and Requests accurately.
  • Perform ongoing network maintenance, including migrations, updates, and security patches.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related service issues, including outages, performance anomalies, and slow connections.
  • Provide written updates, root cause analysis, and resolutions for network-related incidents.
  • Be available for after-hours on-call support as needed.
  • Occasional travel required.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Hands-on network experience with Arista switches.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work independently and proactively as well as within a team environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with vendor management and negotiations.

Technical Experience:

Hands-on experience with the following technologies is required:

  • Arista Switches, EOS, AGNI, Wireless, CVP
  • Fortinet Fortigate Firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, SD-WAN
  • Virtual networking (VMWare).
  • NetBrain, Uila, network performance tools, packet analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Dynamic Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Layer 2 technologies
  • Experience in designing and operating secure hybrid multi-cloud systems (GCP, Azure, AWS) including cloud connectivity and Infrastructure-as-code. Knowledge of cloud networking infrastructure like DNS, VPC, Firewalls, SGs, CASB, IDP, IAM.
  • Network security experience (Access Lists, Prefix Lists, IPsec VPN, dot1x)
  • Experience with SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow, SYS-LOG and other network monitoring protocols and methodologies
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and SIEM systems
  • Strong documentation skills, with proficiency in MS Visio

The base salary range for this position is based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. It is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. It also participates in the Firm's 401(k) and Profit-Sharing Plan.
