Le technicien en développement de produits- Composites est responsable de l'exécution et du soutien des activités de prototypage et d'essais de développement avancé, tout en s'assurant que l'organisation de la recherche et du développement est un partenaire à valeur ajoutée pour Bauer Hockey. Ce poste relève du directeur de l'ingénierie - Développement de produits avancés à notre Centre d'innovation de produits situé à Blainville, au Québec.

Fonctions et responsabilités essentielles de l’emploi:

  • Fournir un soutien en matière de composites aux équipes de bâtons, de patins et autres en réalisant des prototypes, en concevant des moules, en fabriquant des échantillons de pièces composites, en utilisant différents processus et techniques de fabrication (par exemple, le moulage par transfert de résine, le moulage par vessie gonflable, l'ensachage sous vide).
  • Fabriquer des pièces pour la caractérisation des matériaux (par exemple des plaques pré-imprégnées laminées) afin de contribuer à la validation des concepts.
  • Responsable du laboratoire des composites - soutien des travaux de prototypage des matériaux composites ; veiller à ce que les matériaux soient stockés de manière appropriée selon les besoins ; veiller à l'organisation du laboratoire.
  • Effectuer les conceptions CAO nécessaires à la réalisation de prototypes ou d'échantillons.
  • Conception générale et fabrication de gabarits et d'outils d'essai.
  • Participer à des séances de remue-méninges pour trouver de nouvelles idées et des solutions.
  • Aider, si nécessaire, à la fabrication, au prototypage et au dépannage de divers aspects des projets avancés (par exemple, patins, protection, etc.).

Exigences:

  • BS ou BA en ingénierie mécanique ou dans un domaine connexe - ou années équivalentes d'expérience pertinente et connexe.
  • 3 à 5 ans d'expérience dans le prototypage, la fabrication ou les essais de matériaux composites.
  • Solide connaissance des matériaux composites et des procédés de fabrication.
  • Comprendre les principes et systèmes mécaniques, chimiques et électriques de base.
  • Solides compétences en matière de prototypage et de conception.
  • Connaissance de Microsoft Office et expérience d'un système de CAO (Creo ou Solidworks).
  • Connaissance de base de la CNC, des machines de découpe 2D, de la fabrication additive et de l'impression 3D.
  • Bonnes aptitudes manuelles.
  • Capacité à travailler individuellement ainsi qu'avec un groupe diversifié de personnes.
  • Excellentes compétences en matière de gestion du temps et des projets dans un environnement dynamique et en évolution rapide.
  • Capacité à travailler sur plusieurs projets avec un minimum de supervision. S'adapter rapidement à l'évolution des priorités et des besoins de l'entreprise.
  • Curiosité pour apprendre de nouvelles choses et capacité à s'auto-former.
  • Solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale. Doit être bilingue (français et anglais).

The Product Development Technician- Composites is responsible for executing and supporting advanced development prototyping and testing activities, while ensuring that the Research & Development organization is a value-added partner for Bauer Hockey. This role reports to the Engineering Manager- Advanced Product Development at our Product Innovation Centre located in Blainville, Quebec.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide composite support for the stick, skate & other teams by prototyping, designing molds, making composite part samples, using different processes and manufacturing techniques (e.g. resin transfer molding; bladder molding; vacuum bagging).
  • Fabricate parts for material characterization (e.g. laminated prepreg plates) to help validating concepts.
  • Responsible for the composite lab – support composites material prototyping jobs; ensure the materials are stocked appropriately as needed; keep it organized.
  • Perform CADs designs as needed for the realization of prototypes or samples.
  • General design and fabrication of jigs and testing tools.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to give new ideas; find solutions.
  • Assist as needed in different fabrication, prototyping and troubleshooting various aspects of advanced projects (e.g. skates, protective, etc.).

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Mechanical Engineering or related field- or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in prototyping, fabrication or testing with composite materials.
  • Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Understand basic mechanical, chemical, electrical principles and systems.
  • Strong skills for prototyping and design.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge and experience with a CAD system (Creo or Solidworks).
  • Basic knowledge of CNC, 2D cutting machines; additive manufacturing, 3D printing.
  • Good manual skills.
  • Able to work individually as well as with a diverse group of people.
  • Excellent time/project management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work on multiples projects with minimal supervision. Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • A curiosity for learning new things and able to self-educate.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills. Must be bilingual (French & English).
