Senior Vice President, Operations

Banyan Capital Partners, part of Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group, is seeking a Senior Vice President, Operations for its portfolio company Stagevision in Mississauga. If you are a hands-on, operationally minded leader who enjoys building scalable processes, driving performance and leading teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, this opportunity is for you. As a strategic partner to the CEO, you will lead the operations function, driving operational excellence, scalability and disciplined execution across a growing, multi-site business. This role will be based in Mississauga.

Established in 1984, Stagevision is Canada's largest Canadian-owned audiovisual and event production company. Known for blending technical expertise with creativity, Stagevision handles every aspect of event production, from corporate meetings to large-scale conferences. With over 40 years of experience, the company delivers tailored solutions using innovative technology, ensuring transparency, collaboration, and flawless execution. Stagevision's team of professionals specializes in audiovisual solutions, lighting design, stage management, and virtual integration to create impactful in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Recently, Toronto-based Banyan Capital Partners invested in Stagevision to accelerate its continued growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, bringing structure, discipline and insight to support growth, scalability and operational performance.
  • Lead day-to-day operations across five regional hubs, ensuring consistent service delivery, safety standards and operational execution.
  • Build and implement standardized operating procedures and a unified operating model to support scalable, repeatable performance across all locations.
  • Own P&L performance across regional hubs, driving accountability and financial ownership at the local operations level.
  • Establish and evolve KPI frameworks including labour utilization, equipment utilization, cross-rental spend, fleet efficiency and warehouse performance; lead regular business reviews and performance management.
  • Design and oversee a flexible labour model, balancing full-time employees and freelance technicians to meet fluctuating demand.
  • Build forecasting, scheduling tools and operational management structures to support workforce planning and execution.
  • Lead the hiring, development and performance management of operations leaders and technician workforce; build bench strength and succession plans.
  • Optimize equipment utilization across the business, maximizing use of owned assets and minimizing external rental spend through disciplined processes and controls.
  • Develop and execute a scalable, cost-efficient fleet strategy, ensuring compliance with all applicable transportation and safety regulations.
  • Own and optimize the ERP platform, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy and alignment with operational needs.
  • Drive the development of standardized, documented processes across equipment handling, asset management, workflows and warehouse operations.
  • Lead operational integration of acquisitions, including systems, processes and organizational alignment; support due diligence and post-close execution.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Finance to support pricing strategy, cost management and overall business performance.

 

What You Bring

  • Proven senior operations leadership experience with 10+ years of experience, including leadership of multi-site or distributed operations environments.
  • Experience in field services or a comparable asset- and labour-intensive environment; experience in AV, live events, logistics or rental-based businesses is an asset.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen, including experience owning or influencing P&L performance and driving results through KPIs and data.
  • Experience building scalable processes, systems and infrastructure in a growth or post-acquisition environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP or operations platforms and a strong belief in data-driven decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of labour planning, workforce management, asset utilization and warehouse or logistics operations.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives; Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies are considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to build, develop and retain high-performing teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting or leading M&A integration efforts is preferred.
  • Hands-on, action-oriented leader with a solutions-driven mindset and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead through influence, alignment and clear direction.
