This role operates within our successful Finance and Lending team at our Brisbane office. Bentleys Finance collaborates with a diverse range of clients, including Commercial enterprises, SMEs, Agribusinesses, and Individuals, to help them achieve their goals. 

Reporting to our Director of Finance, your role will be pivotal in driving Bentleys Queensland's strategy through expanding new business opportunities by nurturing existing relationships and acquiring new clients. 

About the Person: 

At Bentleys Queensland, we are Thinking Ahead, and as a Associate Director  – Lending and Finance – Commercial Finance Broker, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and success.

Your responsibilities will include:
 

  • Generating new business opportunities from external and internal sources. 
  • Developing and maintaining deep client relationships to effectively manage and deliver a wide range of financial solutions. 
  • Assessing and preparing commercial, agribusiness, equipment finance, SME, and home loan applications for our panel of lending partners. 
  • Conducting financial analysis, interpreting financial statements, and understanding different entities and their interrelationships. 
  • Crafting compelling financial narratives to justify funding and working capital needs from a business perspective. 
  • Establishing strong internal relationships with Accountants to create collaborative opportunities for new business. 
  • Building external relationships with referrers to generate profitable business opportunities. 
  • Leading effective deal structuring, negotiation, and execution with clients and financiers. 
  • Managing loan applications from inception to completion. 

Your Experience and Attributes: 

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial lending, agribusiness, business banking, or asset finance. 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in banking and finance are highly desirable. 
  • Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking (highly desired). 
  • Certificate IV Finance and Mortgage Broking (highly desired). 
  • Proven track record in new business development and networking, with an established network considered a significant advantage. 
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, capable of delivering detailed analysis and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Quick adaptability to new technologies and processes. 
  • Strong analytical capabilities. 
  • Flexible approach to work. 
  • Resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
