Summary
Provide direct, hands-on management and strategic direction to the Procurement team. Collaborate with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, Sales, Fields Services, and other Biocare Medical internal departments to acquire the proper materials and obtain supplies essential for manufacturing and distributing Biocare’s products. Leads the establishment of Lean best practices and processes for BioCare Medical. Develop and implement strategies, objectives, and policies and procedures to fulfill the Company’s Annual Management by Objective (MBO) decisions. The responsibilities will include leading the supply chain department activities and leading sitewide LEAN implementation (building and owning the kaizen funnel and execution) and other management personnel and all other duties customarily associated with your position, as well as any additional duties assigned to you by your supervisor or the Company’s senior management.

- Oversee sourcing and purchasing of all materials and supplies.
- Implement policies and procedures to efficiently, cost effectively and productively purchase goods for supply chain production and operation.
- Manage all aspects of supplier relationships including obtaining bids, negotiating supply agreements, monitoring quality, and driving cost reductions.
- Hire, train, onboard and mentor team members for the department, and develop leadership culture within staff ranks to ensure succession planning within the department.
- Work collaboratively with Quality and Manufacturing teams to implement Lean processes that support continuous improvement of procurement processes. Own the Kaizen funnel and calendar.
- Manage budget and approve all departmental purchasing, supplies, and expenses.
- Oversee planner/buyers to ensure policies and manufacturing planning objectives are met.
- Implement Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process to drive optimal inventory management and maintain customer services levels.
- Implement reporting and provide strategic analysis of departmental performance and metrics, vendor scorecards, recommendations for continuous improvements, and team member nine-box performance assessment and coaching plan to Chief Operations Officer.

Competencies
- B.S./B.A. Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Five plus (5+) years experience in Supply Chain/Procurement or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in implementing Lean practices and processes. Black belt in core lean principles (SW, VSM, TPI) preferred.
- Advanced computer skills including software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Great Plains.
- Experience developing analytical reporting and vendor scorecard systems to manage supply chain.
- Exceptional independent judgment in resolving problems, including conflict between staff and/or with Suppliers.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for both one-on-one and group discussions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Experience as a practitioner of Lean principals in procurement and operations is preferred.
- APICS or similar certification is preferred.
- Proven experience working in a cross-functional team.
Expected Hours of Work
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday and may require extended weekday or weekend hours depending on business needs.
Compensation Range
- $120,000 - $180,000 annual
