Events Manager

Create experiences. Power growth. Make an impact.

At Black Duck, events aren’t just on the calendar -- they’re a critical driver of connection, pipeline, and growth. We’re looking for an Events Manager to help bring our brand to life across North America through high-impact trade shows, hosted events, and virtual experiences that engage buyers, influence revenue, and support our sales teams worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, detail-driven event marketer who thrives in a fast-paced B2B technology environment and loves turning great ideas into seamless, memorable experiences. If you’re energized by collaboration, excited by emerging technologies, and motivated by measurable results, you’ll feel right at home here.

You’ll work side-by-side with Sales, Product Marketing, and Demand Marketing to design event strategies that resonate with prospects and customers -- and translate directly into business impact. From big industry conferences to targeted hosted experiences, your work will sit at the center of Black Duck’s go-to-market engine.

What You’ll Do

  • Help plan and deliver Black Duck’s presence at trade shows, hosted events, internal conferences, and seminars -- bringing our brand and story to life
  • Own the details: coordinate vendors, manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure flawless execution from planning through follow-up
  • Partner closely with marketing, sales, and internal teams to drive strong promotion, attendance, and engagement
  • Program manage all aspects of trade shows, including booth planning, services ordering, deliverables, and onsite staffing
  • Create compelling event content -- landing pages, email campaigns, social promotion, and supporting assets -- that drives registrations and attendance
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new event opportunities aligned to growth goals
  • Measure what matters: track and report on event ROI, pipeline influence, and overall performance
  • Support onsite and virtual execution, including venue selection and negotiation, logistics, timelines, creative assets, and operations
  • Maintain a global events calendar and manage inventory of event-related materials and assets

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in event or field marketing, ideally in a B2B technology environment
  • A willingness to travel up to 50% to support trade shows and events
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in marketing, event management, or a related field
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and move quickly without losing attention to detail
  • A solid understanding of event best practices and performance measurement
  • Curiosity about how AI and emerging technologies can enhance marketing and events
  • Experience in cybersecurity and/or software development is a strong plus

Why Black Duck?

At Black Duck, you’ll join a team that’s collaborative, innovative, and deeply mission-driven -- helping organizations worldwide build more secure software. We offer the opportunity to make a visible impact, grow your skills, and work alongside smart, passionate professionals in a dynamic, evolving industry.

Life at Black Duck

We value creative thinking balanced with operational excellence, and we give our teams the space to test ideas, refine strategies, and continuously improve how we show up in the market.

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy building programs end-to-end -- owning the details, learning from results, and seeing your work directly impact the business. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
