Manager, Business Application Development
We are looking for a Manager, Business Application Development to join Black Duck's Business Applications team who is experienced with and passionate about high-quality Salesforce implementations. You will be the primary technical and people management resource for the India-based development team, working daily alongside a US-based Director, Product Owners, and Technical Architect who set platform direction and priorities.
This role reports to the Director of Revenue Applications in the US. Success in this role requires strong initiative, clear written and verbal communication across time zones, and the ability to own your work from pickup to delivery without requiring close supervision.
Responsibilities
• Manage global developers and admins: day-to-day work, human resource concerns, and team culture.
• Work with your team to drive Salesforce work to completion. Identify blockers early, surface them proactively, and resolve them without waiting to be asked.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with US-based team members across time zones, in writing and in meetings. Decisions, status, and concerns should be visible before they become surprises.
• Execute platform direction set by US-based leadership; own the delivery.
• Design, document, build, test, and deploy components and automations within Salesforce.
• Manage integrations between Salesforce and third-party or internal Black Duck systems.
• Keep current on Salesforce features and recommend best practices to the team.
• Identify process improvements and technical debt, and bring them forward with a clear recommendation, not just an observation.
• Drive alignment on coding standards and Salesforce platform limits.
• Establish and enforce secure coding practices on every release.

Qualifications
• 7+ years of Salesforce development experience with Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Lightning components, triggers, batch Apex, Salesforce APIs, flows, validation rules, roles, and profiles.
• 3+ years of people management experience, including performance management and team development.
• Strong written English communication skills. Comfort communicating asynchronously and in real time with US-based stakeholders is required.
• Proven track record of building teams that deliver and developing engineers technically and professionally.
• Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Community Cloud.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with other applications via SOAP, REST, and Bulk APIs.
• Experience with Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD, preferably Copado.
• Platform App Builder and Platform Developer I certifications required; Platform Developer II and Application Architect preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or a related field required; Master's degree a plus.
