HR Ops & People Partner
Black Forest Labs is a cutting-edge startup pioneering generative image and video models. Our team, which invented Stable Diffusion, Stable Video Diffusion, and FLUX.1, is currently looking for a Talent Lead.
As our HR Ops & People Partner, you will be the first dedicated HR person in the company. You will provide effective HR Ops and People Partner support that enables Black Forest Labs through its global growth. You will work on streamlining HR processes, driving people-focused initiatives, and ensuring legal compliance across multiple countries. We are looking for you to be excited about building new things, be curious and not afraid of what you don’t know and be innovation and solutions-driven. We work at a fast pace and we do it together as one team.
You will report to our Chief of Staff but engage with all levels of the business to get the job done.
Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support on all HR-related enquiries, guidelines and processes
- Manage offer letters, contracting, onboarding, offboarding and ongoing employee admin and support
- Main point of contact for BFL’s HR tools (predominantly Rippling) and keep on top of supplier performance to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose
- Ensure data accuracy and leverage data to make informed decisions,
- Oversee payroll and benefits admin
- Run the biannual review process in an efficient and timely way
- Support managers with their teams
- Ensure BFL is compliant across the different countries it operates in and support any country expansion from an HR perspective
- Proactive about how any law or regulation changes may impact employees and BFL as a company.
- Create new policies where needed
- Trusted advisor for leaders and employees
- Drive people-focused initiatives alongside Chief of Staff
- Assist the Talent team on any projects such as talent development and employer branding
Experience and knowledge
- Start-up experience essential with a builder mind-set and a proactive, self-sufficient approach
- Strong background in HR operations with hands-on experience across the full employee lifecycle.
- Solid understanding and application of employment law, ideally in the US, UK, and Germany.
- Strategic thinking – ensure that HR ops align with company growth goals and culture
- Comfortable at both strategic and tactical levels, with a clear focus on practical/ hands-on execution.
- Experience of building relationships with founders and senior leaders across multiple functions.
- Skilled problem-solver, able to adapt quickly and think on your feet.
- Experience in global environments with sensitivity to cultural differences and diverse workforce needs.
- Tech-savvy and excited about learning new tools that will make your work more efficient.
- High confidence with various HR tools.
