Staff Fullstack Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Staff Full-Stack Engineer who thrives at the intersection of product, infrastructure, and AI-driven development. In this role, you will lead the architecture and evolution of scalable web applications while shaping the long-term technical foundation of Bluefish’s AI marketing platform.

You will operate across teams, partnering closely with AI engineers, product managers, designers, and infrastructure engineers to translate ambiguous product ideas into robust, scalable systems. Beyond building features, you will define architectural patterns, guide technical direction, and ensure that engineering decisions scale with the company’s growth.

We’re looking for someone with a strong product and systems mindset who focuses on delivering durable solutions and measurable customer impact.

As a technical leader within the engineering organization, you will elevate engineering practices across teams, leading design reviews, mentoring senior engineers, and establishing standards that enable teams to move quickly while maintaining reliability and quality.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the architecture of core systems, influence company-wide technical strategy, and define how AI-assisted development powers the next generation of marketing technology.

The role is linked with our office in London, but we offer remote work in UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the architecture and evolution of core product systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability as the platform grows.
• Drive cross-team technical initiatives, aligning engineers across services and product surfaces around clear architectural direction and engineering standards.
• Translate ambiguous product ideas into scalable technical solutions, making pragmatic trade-offs across performance, complexity, cost, and time-to-market.
• Establish and uphold engineering standards across the stack, including testing strategies, observability practices, API contracts, and spec-driven development.
• Lead system scaling initiatives to support orders of magnitude growth, identifying architectural bottlenecks, redesigning critical paths, and proactively strengthening infrastructure.
• Partner deeply with AI engineers, product managers, designers, and DevOps to ensure technical decisions drive meaningful product outcomes.
• Multiply engineering impact across the organization through architecture reviews, mentoring senior engineers, documenting patterns, and improving development workflows.
• Guide adoption of emerging technologies in GenAI, LLMs, GEO, and AI-driven marketing, turning emerging capabilities into concrete product and technical bets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production full-stack systems, with demonstrated ownership of large-scale architectural decisions or platform initiatives.
• Deep expertise with TypeScript and React, shipping production systems end-to-end. Experience or willingness to code with Python is required.
• Strong track record of system design and data modeling, with experience designing architectures that scale across teams and services.
• Fluent in AI-assisted development, leveraging LLM tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining architectural integrity and code quality.
• Experience designing and operating AWS infrastructure using Terraform, with strong focus on security, cost-efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Experience building or maintaining systems operating on large datasets or high-volume event streams
• Proven ability to build high-throughput, fault-tolerant APIs, with expertise in query optimization, indexing strategies, and scalable data access patterns.
• Deep experience with observability and operational maturity, including SLIs/SLOs, distributed tracing, structured logging, and incident response.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically, influencing engineering direction across multiple teams.
• Strong product mindset, partnering with product leaders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and pragmatic system designs.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
