Job Description:
The Orlando VA Healthcare System seeks a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist, fellowship-trained in Body Imaging or Musculoskeletal (MSK) Radiology, to provide on-site diagnostic imaging services to veteran patients. The radiologist will interpret studies and provide consultation in accordance with VA and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards, ensuring timely, high-quality, and patient-centered care. Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties (Approx. 99% of Time)
- Provide diagnostic image interpretation and consultation in Body Imaging or MSK, including:
- CT scans, Ultrasounds, and General Radiology (plain films).
- Expected yearly wRVUs: 9,000.
- Maintain physical presence and punctuality for scheduled clinical sessions.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with referring physicians to ensure appropriate study selection and clinical management.
- Determine appropriate imaging protocols and follow-up procedures.
- Ensure imaging results and recommendations are communicated and documented VA Directives.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions as required.
Administrative Duties (Approx. 1% of Time)
- Participate in Quality Management, Peer Review, and Performance Evaluation (FPPE/OPPE) activities.
- Attend required staff meetings and mandatory VA training.
- Maintain active licensure, board certification, and credentialing documentation at all times.
- Complete annual training on privacy, HIPAA, infection control, and other required VA courses.
Schedule and Work Conditions
- Full-time, on-site presence during VA Imaging Service operational hours.
- Must maintain punctuality and be physically present during assigned shifts.
- Minimal administrative duties; majority of time devoted to clinical image interpretation and consultation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
- Fellowship training in Body Imaging or Musculoskeletal Radiology.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in any state, district, or territory of the United States.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Eligibility for VA credentialing and privileging.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior VA or federal healthcare system experience.
- Familiarity with ACR accreditation, PACS, and EMR systems (CPRS/VistA/EPIC).
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and communication.
Eligibility:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust determination for this role.
Compensation:
Compensation for this position is determined by various factors, including location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
This a 1099 contractual position with any hourly rate range of $290/hr - $315/hr
