Senior Manager, Data Analytics (15-Month Contract)

About The Role

Reporting to Senior Director, Information Systems, the Senior Data Analytics Manager is instrumental in leading a team of analysts to develop and manage scalable Data Products and analytics solutions that extract and interpret both structured and unstructured data through advanced data architecture and system integration. They ensure these solutions foster business collaboration, optimize processes, and accurately track key performance metrics, providing critical insights that enhance business performance and deliver clear, actionable reports to senior/executive management for strategic, data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Define and execute a strategic roadmap for analytics that aligns with organizational goals, working with cross-functional business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and maximize business value.
  • Build trust-based relationships with stakeholders, proactively identifying emerging needs and aligning analytics initiatives with strategic priorities.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of analytics initiatives and their impact on business performance. Deliver and measure incremental business value while continuously improving processes based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Manage team resources efficiently, ensuring projects are properly staffed and consistently delivered on time and within scope. Embed Agile delivery methodologies within the analytics function, enabling iterative development, rapid feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver clear, actionable reports and dashboards tailored to diverse audiences, enabling informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Provide mentorship to the analytics team, fostering continuous learning, professional growth, and a culture of innovation.
  • Partner with the Product and Data Engineering teams to design and implement scalable, future-ready data architecture and analytics solutions.
  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and predictive analytics, to drive business innovation and uncover actionable insights.
  • Manage the analytics team’s budget to optimize resource allocation and ensure maximum return on investment for analytics projects.
  • Develop and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance, leveraging Agile practices to iteratively improve governance processes.
  • Champion Agile transformation across the analytics function, coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile principles to enhance delivery speed, quality, and business impact.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
  • 5+ Years of Experience in Data Analytics Leadership. Proven experience managing and leading data analytics teams, with a strong track record of delivering business impact through data products / initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex data problems, findings and solutions in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Developed data product intuition; experienced in balancing user and business impact as well as short- and long-term impact.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing analytics teams, with a focus on continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., PowerBI, PowerApps, AWS QS, SQL, Python) and experience with big data platforms and cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Expertise in developing and enforcing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing Agile methodologies within a data analytics context, driving iterative development, and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.

 

Nice-to-haves:

  • A master’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a similar field would be considered a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Agile methodologies or project management would be beneficial for the role.
  • Background in data engineering or architecture, including designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and architectures, is a plus for better collaboration with technical teams.

 

 

Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.

Salary

$133,400 - $183,500 CAD
