WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Our Technical Program Management team is helping to lead the charge on the shift towards AI. We are driving the execution and delivery of Box's most strategic programs and portfolios, focusing on realizing Box’s long-term vision of content + AI. As system thinkers, we are optimizing business operations and delivery for Engineering and Product while collaborating company-wide to maximize efficiency.
We are seeking a seasoned Staff Technical Program Manager to lead complex, high-impact programs that accelerate Box’s transition into the modern AI-powered development ecosystem for both our teams and customers. In this role, you will drive cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, partnering with business and technology leaders across the organization to ensure successful outcomes. You will bring structure to ambiguity, proactively manage milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks, and ensure programs are executed with clarity, speed, and quality. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative environments, communicates effectively across stakeholders, and is passionate about leveraging technology to deliver meaningful customer impact.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

Autonomously manage and drive alignment and execution for successful delivery of strategic, cross-functional and complex technical programs across Box. You will independently manage programs and portfolios by breaking down ambitious objectives into interconnected workstreams with clear milestones, success criteria, dependencies, and execution plans. Clearly identifying the constraints and needed trade-offs and getting ahead of risks.

You are a change agent, fostering operational excellence by driving organizational transformation and cultivating a high-performance ecosystem by creating AI-first process that facilitates successful execution and delivery. Leverage in-house built and emerging AI tools to bring visibility into the program ecosystem.

Have a seat at the table - strategic influence - You act as a key partner to executive leadership, influencing product roadmaps, champion critical technical initiatives, and drive organizational change across cross-functional teams.

Mentor and coach other TPMs by facilitating knowledge sharing, providing guidance on complex program execution, and guiding the adoption of best practices.

Strong track record of driving complex cross-functional initiatives

Excellent oral and written communication with a strong ability to lead with influence and partner with executive stakeholders across multiple organizations to ensure alignment, mitigate risks, manage competing priorities, and allocate resources

Exhibit independent, critical thinking to navigate through ambiguity from a vague problem to a detailed solution with passion for hands on contribution

Self-motivated and proactive with a proven ability to adapt well in a fast paced tech company and collaborate closely with teams on different operating cadences.

Extensive experience and proficient understanding of standard Agile and Software Development Lifecycle and program management tools including Confluence, Jira, and Smartsheet.

Detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem solving abilities to prioritize and manage key challenges.

Demonstrated in you career deep technical experience in software development engineering or system reliability engineering
PREFERRED SKILLS
-
Experience with working Agent Orchestrated software development and/or experience building AI into products

Experience using AI and tool chain (e.g. cursor, claude, codex) to automate manual processes to improve your and your team’s productivity

7+ years in technical program management, driving large cross-functional programs and initiatives in fast-paced tech companies

12+ years experience in a tech field

B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor TPM teammates
