WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

The IT Operations PMO is intentionally building a more scalable model for how IT delivers work. You will join a team focused on helping IT teams plan, prioritize, and deliver work with greater clarity, confidence, and less friction. This is a hands-on role where you will own assigned projects and workstreams, provide structured project management support, and help maintain the planning, reporting, documentation, and Agile practices that support our broader IT Operations portfolio.

You will work closely with experienced Program Managers and PMO leadership, with opportunities to take on broader program responsibility as your judgment, confidence, and experience grow. You will bring order to complex work, build strong working relationships across technical and business partners, and help teams move forward with visibility and structure. You will arrive with solid project management fundamentals and grow into higher program-level scope, complexity, and stakeholder leadership and learn the evolution of how IT delivers at scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will own assigned projects and workstreams, leading lower-to-mid complexity IT projects from intake through closeout with practical delivery plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and success criteria. You are accountable for the quality of your plans, status, and recommendations, regardless of the tools used to produce them.

  • You will coordinate across technical and business partners to keep work moving and facilitate project meetings and working sessions that result in clear decisions and next steps.
  • You will maintain accurate project status and communicate changes early, supporting project intake, planning, and portfolio data quality through Jira, Airtable, Box, and other PMO tools.

  • You will prepare status reporting, dashboards, and metrics for review by senior PMO team members and help ensure project documentation is complete, current, and proportional to the complexity of the work. You can explain and stand behind every number, risk, and status call in your reporting.

  • You will help IT Operations teams maintain healthy backlogs and clear work definitions, supporting Kanban practices, flow visibility, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.

  • You will identify recurring friction, gaps, or manual work in project delivery and suggest practical improvements, using Jira, Airtable, AI tools, and automation to reduce repetitive work and improve visibility.

  • You will identify risks, dependencies, and delivery concerns early, knowing when to resolve an issue independently, when to consult the PMO, and when a decision belongs with a functional manager or leadership.

  • You will partner with senior Program Managers on more complex programs and workstreams, building deeper capability in program management, portfolio thinking, Agile practices, and stakeholder leadership.

WHO YOU ARE

We are an AI-first company. This means you approach your work with a growth mindset and find ways to leverage AI to help make faster, smarter decisions that will 10X your impact at Box.

  • You use AI to accelerate work you already know how to do: drafting, summarizing, analyzing, and automating. You can independently evaluate, correct, and take accountability for anything AI produces.

  • You have 2 or more years of hands on program management experience with technology, IT, business systems, or cross-functional projects, with demonstrated ability to manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and stakeholder communication.

  • You bring clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, strong meeting facilitation abilities, and the capacity to turn discussion into decisions and action.

  • You have working knowledge of Agile practices, Scrum, or Kanban, with comfort working with changing priorities while maintaining visibility and structure.

  • You take ownership of your work without needing constant direction, are comfortable asking for help when context or authority is unclear, and can distinguish between coordinating a problem and owning the problem yourself.

  • You can independently build and defend a project plan, run a risk and dependency analysis, and make scope, timeline, and escalation recommendations based on your own professional judgment.

  • You have experience with Jira or a similar project management platform, strong comfort with spreadsheets, dashboards, documentation tools, and collaboration platforms, and willingness to learn new tools and use automation or AI to make routine work more efficient.

  • You are curious about how systems, processes, and organizations work, receptive to feedback, and interested in growing from strong project execution into broader program ownership over time.

Voluntary Self-Identification of
Disability

Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor required by law to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities.  We are also required to measure our progress toward having at least 7% of our workforce be individuals with disabilities.  To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had a disability.  Because a person may become disabled at any time, we ask all of our employees to update their information at least every five years.

Identifying yourself as an individual with a disability is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so.  Your answer will be maintained confidentially and not be seen by selecting officials or anyone else involved in making personnel decisions.  Completing the form will not negatively impact you in any way, regardless of whether you have self-identified in the past.  For more information about this form or the equal employment obligations of federal contractors under Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

Completing this form is voluntary, but we hope that you will choose to fill it out. If you are applying for a job, any answer you give will be kept private and will not be used against you in any way.

If you already work for us, your answer will not be used against you in any way. Because a person may become disabled at any time, we are required to ask all of our employees to update their information every five years. You may voluntarily self-identify as having a disability on this form without fear of any punishment because you did not identify as having a disability earlier.

How do I know if I have a disability?
