Overview:
We are actively searching for a Personal Injury Legal Assistant that has a wealth of experience in both pre-litigation and litigation phases. Key Responsibilities
- Review, scan, and accurately upload all incoming mail, emails, and faxes into the firm's document and case management systems.
- Maintain the litigation calendar, including IMEs, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, court appearances, and all court deadlines and notices.
- Prepare and send client correspondence regarding scheduled litigation events, including IMEs, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and court appearances.
- Coordinate depositions, including scheduling court reporters, interpreters, and videographers as needed.
- Confirm all attorney appearances and upcoming events with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party vendors.
- Request and obtain medical records, billing records, and narrative reports from healthcare providers.
- Organize and maintain electronic medical records for use in discovery, interrogatories, document production, and trial preparation.
- Prepare and send correspondence to opposing counsel regarding amended discovery responses, supplemental productions, and related case materials.
- Schedule plaintiff medical examinations and expert evaluations, ensuring all necessary records and imaging are provided in advance.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, medical providers, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Process pre-settlement funding requests in accordance with firm policies.
- Provide day-to-day administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals throughout the life of a Pennsylvania personal injury case.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Litigation Assistant, or similar role in a personal injury law firm.
- Prior experience handling Pennsylvania personal injury litigation is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Pennsylvania state court procedures, deadlines, and litigation practices.
- Experience managing litigation calendars and coordinating depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Familiarity with medical records, discovery, and personal injury case documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Professional, client-focused demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
Compensation Range:
$45,000 - $55,000 USD
Compensation: The base salary or hourly range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to; prior relevant experience, business needs and market factors. Additionally, salary wages are only part of the total compensation package.
