Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I

Location: 42 W 39th Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10018  

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite Monday-Friday (8:30AM-5:15PM)

Job Description: Velocity Architecture & Engineering DPC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work on a wide variety of projects in the NY public sector. This is a great opportunity for a recent or soon-to-be Mechanical Engineering graduate who is pursuing a career in a consulting engineering environment/building systems design, and will offer exposure to many project types, including plumbing & fire protection design.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Aid in interpreting, coordinating, and implementing technical assignments.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization and with clients.
  • Assist in managing complex projects that are primarily in the mechanical discipline, including plumbing and fire protection.
  • Work collaboratively with other employees to achieve the project’s goals
  • Work with the department to ensure all deliverables meet the overall project team requirements for project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with MEP department to ensure compliance with standards, established design practices, applicable codes, and achieving technical excellency.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of mechanical engineering experience or training within a consulting or design-build firm (internship experience will be considered for entry-level candidates)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience/training with AutoCAD based design projects is required, Revit experience is a plus
  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an EIT certification who are motivated to obtain their PE
  • Experience/interest in Plumbing & Fire Protection is a plus

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering #LI-Onsite

*Please note, salary bandings are wide as this position is flexible on experience level. Compensation is commensurate with relevant experience and licensure.

Salary

$70,000 - $100,000 USD
