The Airport Operations Auditor ensures compliance with airport operations protocols and winter ops standards across the network. This role focuses on auditing, monitoring, and evaluating operational readiness, safety, and adherence to regulatory and company policies. The auditor plays a critical role in maintaining operational integrity, particularly during winter conditions, by assessing deicing procedures, snow removal practices, and airport operational compliance.
Here's what you'll do
- Audit Management: Conduct regular internal station comprehensive audits. During the winter operation season this team member will be assist with audits of winter operations, including deicing protocols, snow removal, and runway condition reporting.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to FAA, TSA, and company regulations for airport operations.
- Training Oversight: Review training records and procedures for airport team members. This includes delivery and oversight of winter ops training to deice business partners before season start.
- Incident Reporting: Evaluate and report on operational incidents, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
- Documentation Review: Verify the accuracy and completeness of operational logs, training records, and compliance documentation.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with safety, station managers, airport partners, quality assurance, and regulatory bodies to address audit findings and ensure compliance with CFRs
- Operational Readiness: Assess station preparedness for winter operations, including equipment functionality, resource availability, and team member readiness.
- Procedure Enhancement: Provide feedback on existing winter and airport operational procedures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- On-Site Support: Offer on-site support as needed to ensure compliance and operational continuity.
- Audit Reporting & Follow Up : Prepare detailed audit reports and communicate findings to leadership, providing actionable recommendations. This includes audit follow up to ensure corrective actions have been implemented and findings closed.
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in airport operations, compliance, or winter operations management.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations related to winter and airport operations.
- Strong understanding of Above and Below Wing procedures, including deicing and ramp operations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and audit management tools.
- Ability to adapt to varying schedules and operational needs, including potential emergency response.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field.
- Certification in deicing operations or airport operations management.
- Experience conducting internal or external audits.
- Familiarity with electronic record-keeping systems and compliance software.
