About the Role:
The Data Analyst / Senior Data Analyst role is a key part of Brightfield’s data team, responsible for interpreting and analyzing complex workforce data to drive strategic business insights. This hands-on role requires analytical rigor, a commitment to data accuracy, and an ability to communicate findings effectively to customers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be experienced in data manipulation, visualization, and problem-solving, and able to collaborate cross-functionally to support Brightfield’s TDX platform.
What You'll Do:
- Data Analysis and Visualization: Perform data manipulation, querying, and in-depth analysis to uncover trends and insights that address customer challenges. Create and refine data visualizations to present findings clearly.
- Customer Insight Generation: Work closely with a portfolio of customers to understand their business needs and provide data-driven recommendations. Leading customer calls, presenting complex findings in a clear and actionable format.
- Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Customer Success and Product, to identify and implement data-driven improvements. Share methodologies and insights within the team to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Data Quality and Standards: Ensure data accuracy and completeness across datasets, adhering to established quality standards.
- Project and Portfolio Management: Manage multiple projects, adjusting to shifting priorities as needed. Senior Analysts may additionally own technical areas such as ETL processes and conduct second reviews of client deliverables to maintain quality.
- Automation and Efficiency Improvements: Identify and automate manual processes to enhance data handling efficiency, improving both team productivity and data reliability.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Stay current with emerging trends and tools in data analysis, sharing knowledge through internal training sessions and open office hours.
Who You Are:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience Level:
- Data Analyst: 2+ years of experience in data analysis or a related role, with advanced proficiency in either Excel or SQL.
- Senior Data Analyst: 4+ years of experience, with advanced proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Communication and Presentation: Proven ability to explain data and insights to non-technical audiences. Senior Analysts are expected to lead client communications and mentor team members. Data Analysts are expected to present to customers, in collaboration with Customer Success.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel and SQL is required; experience in Python or R is preferred. Senior Analysts should have advanced skills in data wrangling and data visualization.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to translate complex data findings into actionable insights, with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adaptability and Project Management: Capable of managing multiple priorities, adapting to fast-paced changes, and meeting deadlines.
- Growth Mindset: Eagerness to learn, with a proactive approach to seeking and applying feedback.
